It’s probably just me but I thought Tommy looked a little different running yesterday than I can remember.

Mind you it’s been a while since I’ve seen him running anyway but it just seems different.

Either that or I not only need reading glasses but long vision ones as well!!

Did anyone else notice this or am I dreaming ??

I think he was pretty cautious yesterday and run well within himself, probably made his running style look a little different to what we’re used to, seeing him in full stride

No difference from me feathered friend . I just saw the same Turbo charged Turbo

I think a few people in this thread are equating 'running differently' with 'running cautiously' which I think is a wrong assumption - I didn't notice it but they could very well have focused on changing his style of running so it is less taxing on his body.

He was still fast but it just seemed a different “ gait “.

I could be wrong but I thought it was different.

he Definitely got into it and run without fear, but I still don’t think he fully stretched out, he had plenty of support and was able to take advantage as opposed to pushing for full stride

I didn’t notice anything different about Turbos running style ....... but what about the Saab..... the kid just cruises! He is not even puffed after running 70m to score!

Tom has an incredible knack of sensing gaps in opposition defences. He was a menace down both flanks yesterday and had the second guessing about whether he was going to pass or run. His first half was as good as it gets!

No I’m not saying he wasn’t having a go , just to me it seemed a different style than previously.
Well there are basically two ways to run faster - you either increase your stride length or your stride rate. He is long strider which is normal for taller people but probably puts more strain on your hammies. It's hard to retrain to running at high cadence though although I think that's probably better suited to league.

Thought he looked a bit bigger around the butt. Prob due to the work to overcome his hammy problems and might explain the slight change in gait

Hi mate, I was talking to a woman who knows people in the know and apparently they have changed Turbo's running gate so he doesn't place too much pressure on the hammies. So if you've noticed a difference it's because he's been retrained.
