Yes we are going to lose anyway so give him two more weeks
If Tom wants to sacrifice salary for Manly then make him sacrifice origin. If he comes back in next couple weeks and then goes off to play origin then that'll show that not only is he full of it but has given up on Manly’s season already. You watch he'll come back next week so he'll be right for origin but he'll play like DCE, in full self preservation mode.

Honestly, if he breaks down again and is out for 2026 the club need to look at two options. Pay a big load of his salary eg 700k and probably some club will risk getting a gun turbo for 500k. We can put that 500k into a forward. Sadly, we look at the other option of medically retirement. We can't keep doing this, 2025 is literally already over. 2026 will be just as bad. I feel for the season ticket holders to be honest.

Realistically at this point were paying Corey, Jake and Ben because of Tom thats a huge chunk of the cap and regardless of IF tom ever comes good we cant continue to carry the family forever - Tom needs to take 650 (brooks kind of money given he barley plays and thats a big risk for Manly) Jake 350 is generous at this point given he literally cant bend the line and I don't see a position for him anymore and the other two need to be put out to pasture. Knowing us we'll probably sign the other brother as well as part of next contract negotiations even if he doesn't play football

I couldn’t care any less about making the 8 or not, TBH. I feel so deflated after daring to feel somewhat optimistic again this season.

I actually feel stupid for feeling optimistic after a couple of rounds. Should know by now that 3 things would happen as usual over the last decade.
1. Turbo break down , add in Paseka, Aloiai and Saab
2. Defensively derelict
3. Some internal upheaval to nuke our chances.

They got us again, didn't they
It’s sad isn’t it , we were mostly optimistic in January , but just like that , all taken away from us.

Pretty much all the optimism (including mine) came with the rider, we need Turbo and we'll need some luck, including with injuries.
Tom (say no more) + Paseka (big injury blow) + DCE (whichever way we look at it it hasn't helped)
So our reasonable hope for top 4 has quickly become a hope for top 8. We're still in that I reckon

It’s looking like position 14-17 for me

Yep, it is looking that way. As bad as it sounds maybe an awful year or an awful couple of years will be the cattle prod up the arse the owners need to finally make the real changes we need to be a force again. Yeah ...... I know dream on..... They are more likely to rehire that idiot Barrett or bring Nate Myles out of retirement.

The deluded idea from coach, management and ownership that we are in a "premiership window" is just so divorced from reality that they should almost be certified and put out in the loony ward. Surely they can't be that clueless?

At the moment every season we're just trying to band aid over the obvious cracks by signing journey men old slow lumbering forwards, it hasn't and won't ever work. I feel bad when I see comments from people on here a bit excited that Lodge will be back after round 11.... if he is our hope, then we are doomed.

With Turbo largely injury free we're probably at best a bottom of the top 8 side but no Turbo for a big chunk of the year as usual, other injuries to Paseka and then shxt show of the DCE world wide privacy tour well that must have an affect as well. I reckon we're probably going to finish a 12th to 15th ranked team.

Throw in, in and out players like the Preacher, back fence Brownie and Sipley and it's a recipe for a s@!# year.

Turbo has many attributes to his game,.the most important aspect he will fill when he returns is the on field leadership that has disappeared without him, DCE, Jake and Haumole haven’t delivered.

This may be my exasperation and/or desperation speaking, but I don't think there's any point to resting him. Nothing seems to mitigate his knack for picking up an injury, so I'll go the opposite way: if he's available, play him. If he gets hurt (again), he gets hurt (again). If he doesn't, great. I don't think there's any science to it: more rest, less rest - nothing seems to make a difference. So we may as well roll the dice when we can.
Agree, l liken his situation to Minichello's.
He looked gone picking up injury after injury ( some innocuous, some serious), talk of playing him on the wing to lighten his load etc and he ended up having a terrific run to see out his career.

and no one else in the team takes up the slack when Turbo is not there. we are really a 1 man team.
apart from lehi, Garrick, Talau, Bullemore, the rest are ineffective

Turbo will come good in time for SOO, where he'll play against the Manly captain.
It's all good news for the Eagles . . . not.
Neither of them will play Origin this year. Whether that is good news for us...? not if it is determined by injury and poor form.
