Our lifes is like a game of footy feathered friend
We all get knocked down from time to time
Some of us give up and some of us keep trying to get up and keep going
Tom is one of those that keeps trying
The question is . How long will the club keep persisting with him
Agree bozo if it was me i probably would’ve retired by now.

Year by year injury breakdown. It all fell to poo in 2019. I love watching him more than anyone else in this League when he's fit. You can safely say that we haven't received value for dollar from him.

BUT, as frustrated as us fans are, I can't imagine how he feels though, I reckon there'd be a lot of tears behind closed doors. Poor fella

  • 2016: Ankle injury - Missed 1 week.
  • 2017: Ankle and knee injuries - Missed 3 weeks.
  • 2018: Ankle injury - Missed 1 week.
  • 2019: Hamstring injury - Missed 8 weeks. Later that year, he suffered a pectoral muscle tear, missing the finals series.
  • 2020: Hamstring injury - Missed 13 weeks. Shoulder injury - Missed the Origin series.
  • 2021: Hamstring injury - Missed 5 weeks. Head knock - Missed 1 week.
  • 2022: Shoulder injury - Required surgery and missed the entire season.
  • 2023: Hamstring injury during pre-season. Pectoral injury - Missed 10-14 weeks.
  • 2025: Suspected MCL knee injury - Could be sidelined for over a month
Not quite accurate, but it hardly seems worth arguing. 😢

There should be some very hard questions asked of our coaching and medical staff on why Tom was allowed to play today, and then why he was allowed to stay on the field injured. But there is noone capable in charge of this club, as the clown show earlier this week showed.

We all wish him a speedy recovery, but it's frustrating to all of us (tom included).

It's like looking at your Lamborghini in the shop all year - then just when you're ready to take it out, your big brother steals it (state of origin) and stuffs it again.

Every year it seems like:

Tom: I've had a great off season, never felt better, can't wait, legs are great.
Jake: Tom trains so hard to get his body right, people just don't see it. I'm really proud.

Week two footy gods: We'll tighten that hammy thanks. Maybe next year. mwah ha haaaaaaar.

........

So his right knee was strapped after a training collision with Ben, he missed round 3 due to Hammy tightness (at the end of the rd 2 game), and last night did a mcl in his left knee.

fmd - can we get in that witch doctor that removed the curse from the Aussie soccer team?

Rugby League can be a cruel game and many great careers have been significantly disrupted and or cut short by injury. Imagine being in Turbo's shoes knowing you have that much talent but your body is constantly letting you down. According to Seibold Tommy works extremely hard off the field in preconditioning so he is doing everything that he can.

This career ending story could turn out being the case of
The mind is willing but the body is week.
The NRL is a Brutal game and it exposes all weakness

Turbo has been a tough and courageous player
But no matter how tough and courageous you are
If your wheels fall off . You can not keep going any more .

Tom Turbo is an inspirational and Impressive human being on and off the field
One of my favourite Dynamic players and Good Humble Soul .
It was was very sad to to see him strapped and struggling on game day
It really broke my passionate Manly Heart
Passion does come with emotions and I feel very much for him today

So , what does the club do with Tom

Circa 1.1 million , and in the last 5 years you never get a full season out of him , he’s an injury magnet , it’s like he just stands there and says “ okay injury gods throw whatever you’ve got at me “ ( yet I know it’s not his fault ).

But it’s a serious question, this is a LOT of money and heavily impacting our cap.

But you do know if we released him , he’d go on to have the best 5 years of his career injury free.

But keep him , and it would be more of the same.

I think the only way ( and the NRL wouldn’t register the contract ) is an offer of say half his current contract , and then so much for every game he plays.

Nat that won’t happen

Injuries have always been part of the game, as has luck.
Just take it game at a time, year by year, and take some consolation in the fact he's already flagged being paid less.

Tom Trbojevic is expected to miss about four weeks of football after injuring his knee in Sunday’s victory over Parramatta Eels at 4 Pines Park.

Scans have confirmed Tom has suffered minor damage to his medial collateral ligament in his left knee.

The Sea Eagles are back at Brookvale this Sunday to play Melbourne Storm in Round 5 of the Telstra NRL Premiership.

4 weeks means 8 really , maybe 6-7

Good news. 4 weeks is on the lower end of what was predicted.

It’ll be 5 weeks really as we have the round 9 bye.
