    who was the first canterbury junior to play for australia.he was playing for manly at the time.

    I agree with Steve Sharp and i will have a crack at Russel Gartner althog it would surprise me if it took 40 years for a Canterbury junior to play for Australia.

    I thought Gartner was a Manly junior from Narrabeen.

    He may have been. I know he is the son of Jim Gartner who was one of 4 brothers that played first grade for Canterbury. Russells grandfather was also a Canterbury first grader.

    I'll say Dennis Ward, he played presidents cup for Canterbury in 62.
