Interesting is that the only Sea Eagles rated in the top 5 in their positions are players bought in the last two years. Just goes to show we are buying top players.

The article also rated the top 50 players and the only Manly players mentioned were BK 5th, Steve Bell 21st and Choc Watmough at 40th.

Should be taken with a grain of salt as Lockyer was rated 80th, Webcke 59th, Anasta 160th and Wing at 211th.

without publishing the criteria that means nothing - could be the best looking as judged by the mudgee under 15's netball team - who knows?

From what the article it said stats such as metres gained, assists, tackles v missed tackles etc.

Bottom line is that it is only an indication but something that is worth looking at.

Fluff's point is correct though - someone did say that statistics are like a bikini - what they cover is more important than what they show!!!

What about leadership, inspiration value, skill, spped, TACKLES MADE....there are a hell of a lot more aspects to a player.

I rate Orford as the second best 1/2 in the game today.

Five Eighth

1. Benji Marshall

I bet he wasn't rated highly after the game at Brookie when BK steam rolled him 5 times. ;)

It did say in the article that if Benji had better defence then he would be ranked number 1 ahead of Joey Johns.

The stats didn't take account of a lot of things including injuries, impact on other players etc so are flawed!!
