Toovey excited ahead of finals campaign

Manly Sea Eagles coach Geoff Toovey had mixed emotions after his side’s 24-16 victory over the Titans on Saturday night.

Speaking after the game, Toovey felt that while a momentum building win was great, there were plenty of little areas to work on coming into the first week of the finals.

Manly to find another gear for finals

The Sea Eagles have put in dazzling, if patchy, performances to power into the finals in fourth spot, but both the Manly boys and their opposition warn the best is yet to come.

Manly's six straight wins have featured ferocious early assaults or fast finishing, but the northern beaches outfit haven't yet strung both together for a complete package.

Time to take it to the next level

Sea Eagles co-captain Jason King says everything steps up a level during finals time, from media attention to team rivalries, and Manly are going to have to match that intensity on the field.

King: Only Friday's on my mind

Jason King makes his long awaited return to meaningful September football this Friday, but the Manly co-captain says his focus and that of the team's is on their semi final with Canterbury - not defending their title.

While Manly enter the 2012 finals as favourites, King says the value of the Manly faithful in the stands at ANZ Stadium is a bigger bonus than any press favouritism.
