Tooves is a great ambassador for the club, mature, well spoken and can take some of the media pressure off the current players. More then that he seems to be respected in a way that most former Manly players are not. I am yet to overhear anyone say something bad about him, and I know people who would bag Jesus if he wore the Maroon and White.

I would love to see Tooves in the media more often, as well as people like Williamson and when he returns Menzies, they make us look good. (In the future Balin and Wolfman might be in this category as well.)

This part of your comment astounds me. People might have respected his football ability but Tooves was and is very disliked by a lot of non Manly fans.

I know a few Manly fans that weren't that fond of him in his playing days either but he seems to have mellowed a bit.
