He also Inherited Haslers back ended contracts which caused turmoil for our club and for our players . He inherited incompetent refereeing that cost us a grand final and He also inherited a board that didn't support him .
After all the turmoil and against all odds he encountered our great Toovey has a proud winning percentage of 58% which is up there with the best of them .
Not to mention he was one win off a semi final spot in that bleak season of 2015 with a very depleted squad.
And we remember the loss that ended our chances.

I always thought Toovey’s tactics in the semi loss to the Tattoosters was poor. No penalty shots taken when the Goosters were gifting them to us? Dumb.
If Manly had won that game, the GF might have been ours. They just ran out of gas in that second half.
And in the Benefit of Hindsight Department, he brought Arthur into the system. It was like letting a fox loose in the henhouse.
