Tom Turbo .. interesting if true

I mean, if Tom was selected as the 18th man for Origin, it was a terrible selection - and not just because he was ordinary tonight. He's been well below par all year, and nowhere near full fitness at any stage. So, yes, he should not have had to make the choice between club and state because he never should have been picked.

It’s a damn shame the Trbojevic‘s have been great for this club real club men
But it’s a professional sport these days and some hard calls need to be made to make this club successful again DCE going is a step in the right direction

Seeing Turbo out there trying to get through games without getting injuried has changed my mind on if we should give him another contract. In the end if he can't play to his standards, its time to either hang the boots or move on to the super league. No use holding a player that is shell of his former self. He can also take Jake and Ben T with him.

Cronulla is still scratching around trying to find money to sign Will Kennedy on around $500-600k, and we're looking to extend Tom for around 800k when he's only got one leg

I can't stomach watching us buy 2nd hand used goods anymore. This fuking sh*tshow of journeymen and retirement contracts has to end. Even Fogarty is just another one. Until these fu*kwit owners start pouring money into a decent pathways system and develop a team then we'll continue to go nowhere. Just look at the collection of used and unwanted crap we're sending out masquerading as an NRL team. It's broken. Our club is broken and these cun*s have broken it. Until they're out it won't get fixed.

I’d love to know how he can go from looking big, strong, and fast for Australia 6 months ago, to now slow and incapable of making a tackle break.

He’s had an MCL and a cork injury; surely they don’t suddenly render a player completely incapacitated.

It’s a remarkable collapse in a very short period of time. He suddenly looks 100 years old out there.

It is indeed a head scratcher. Mentioned in another thread, but I think DCE's shenanigans may be weighing heavily on both Tom and Jake. But that could merely be a manifestation of my own disgust with Cherry and a willingness to blame everything on him🙂

The last time Tom played at his best was the Aust games last year. Then came the inevitable leg injuries again, such a shame, but that's footy I guess.

Surely the 18th man should always come from a team with the bye.

It's not like there is a lack of quality players.

You know it makes sense, so it won't happen.

It has to partially be a mentality issue. He was not great at centre returning from injury vs the Cowboys in Townsville last year but he made it through that match. He was then pretty good for the rest of the year after that point.

This season is a write off. I would be inclined to rest Tom for the rest of the year, tell the Aus selectors that he is carrying an injury and won't be available for the ashes series (because you still get the feeling they'd take him) and see what he's like after a good spell of just getting his body right and fit.
I know he's on a lot of money but if we keep flogging him then he has no future anyway
