Tom Trbojevic was a Legend

Add Rowdy Shearer too.
Could I please name a few fullbacks that are legends?

Eadie = Premiership
Ridge = Premiership
Stewart = Premiership

Tom = Nothing
Eadie 4 premierships and if it wasn’t for Shayne ****in Hayne Stewart would have won a third….tom s performance in 2021 was the best I have seen from any player ever and that’s saying something because Eadie in 76 and stewart in 2008 were pretty special and up there with fultons best

wasnt there a poll or thread regarding Snake or Turbo. I couldnt believe that early in his career people already rated him better than the Snake. I think he could have been, still might, and has certainly had some off the chart games, but still dont think he has caught Snake at this time.

A legend? I think he near qualifies, he has carried this team, and its not his fault a premiership hasnt come his way yet. He's played mostly in teams that rate as a team I think that would finish 5th to 12th throughout his career.
Agree and if we had say a politis as an owner he would have won a premiership…

Absolutely JBW!!! That season he had in 21?? I had mates from other teams going, "How does anyone stop him? He scores at will." Unfortunately, it is 2026 next year, and those days are long gone for his million-dollar salary.
It would be interesting to see what Tom can do behind a good forward pack…Im not suggesting he would be Tom 2021 but I think he would be very solid. See how teddy or Edward’s would go behind the pack we fielded on Friday night.if we had burbo and ola on the field against raiders that game would have been very close .

This would be a tough tough call but for renewal I think we don’t re-sign Jake , and Turbo should only get a mid level offer , sadly think his best days are past.

Given Jake’s insistence on putting renewal negotiations on hold until he assesses whether or not he can go another season after 2026, I’d say he’s very much taking into account his frequent concussions & may very well decide to retire.

He may even retire before his current contract is up.

I assume he’ll become an integral part of our coaching staff upon retirement & will hopefully be there for a long time.

Most likely more interest for next season if Turbo is in reasonable shape and finishes this year moving O K and at one .
And if the best option at the back for the start of 26 , Lehi back to the wing , Garrick back to centre with Koula and Saab other winger
Won 't please everyone but a quite likely scenario and a similar situation with Talau right now if he does re commit
Turbo maybe not that much different to John Gibbs back in the day , brilliant player on his day but limited with perennial injuries
Turbo reaching greater heights career wise but still in the category what could have been
Turbo [ and Jake ] probably in line from Manly 's perspective to new 2 year deals from 26 , maybe realistically in the 750 k range for Turbo [ at this stage anyway ] , really could not envisage any more then say 450 K for Jake but there still has to be some confidence and expectation that he can get through next season somehow without any worsening on field health issues

His best days at fullback are definitely gone. Arguably, his best days at centre as well. Is there another spot in the Manly side that could suit him, and also suit us? Five-eight? Lock? Or are his effective playing days with us finished? Could we try him as our five-eight next season alongside Fogarty? Brooks goes to 14 and becomes our bench utility? Could Turbo play an Isiah Yeo role as a ball-playing lock perhaps?
