If Tom was playing on the wing, the same thing would be happening as Hiku. Both are not quick enough for wingers and both keep moving in and not staying on their man. Something Toovey does not teach !! It happens with Blair, Gutho etc. The club needs a specialised quick winger, which they do not have. No sliding nothing, too many holes

Massive mistake playing Hiku. His positioning has cost us 2.tries.Tom Turbo has to play next week.

Tooveys dumb decisioning in team selections again, as well as Tooveys extremely poor defensive structures.
I'm so glad he's gone. Hopefully Barrett brings in some defensive strength.
Also, what the hell is Singe doing with Pork Pie Peta? Guy looks like he has swallowed a sheep, and is playing the same.
In fact, I'd say Symonds has more speed than Hiku. Gotta pull the bloke off the field.

Foran, as usual, is completely invisible, apart from a few shocking errors on the opposition try line.

Rubbish, Hiku has been atrocious. Tom T out ran semi radradra in the sevens - he is plenty quick enough.
Agree that our defensive structures are very poor and coaching plays a big part of that. Tom is very inexperienced on the wing also, but he has the speed, and some of the things Hiku has done is plain amateur hour. I also think Jamie plays a role here and collapses in too quickly rather than calling his inside men to spread the line and keep it intact.
Tom does not have explosive speed from the start nor quick enough to get back in defence, he has been caught out himself against this team and others before. If Tom was playing tonight the same thing would happen. Tom is a good fullback and not a winger. You play wingers on the wing and fullbacks at fullbacks. You play players in their correct positions and a wing is a specialised position. One of the problems with the team is we have no real strong speedsters, only Brett who has the explosive speed, but is getting on a bit.
TomT is fast easily our fastest back I know Brett S is quick off the mark But Tom T has him covered. Tom T needs to be in the team every week he adds another dimension with cross field kicks also. Peta Hiku had a poor game tonight and he is not a winger he needs to be a centre or a 5/8 for him to have a future at Manly.
You haven't watched the speed drills at the club. Tom doesn't get anywhere near Brett, from a standing start until finish

Agree. Tom T comes in too. We should take notes on how the roosters defend, thats how you do it- but they also have a fitter side with forwards that can dominate in tackles, win the wrestle and man up. Manly get dominated up the middle leaving lyon to rush in followed by the winger. Lyon does come in a fair way though causing the wingers to come in also. Blair wolf tom t, they all follow lyon in. I hate the way we defend out wide, i want to see trent coach a different way..if possible. We seem to jam in then back peddle and try and slide. But we are too slow and miss too many one one one tackles. And dont have the cover defense like we use too. Players getting older, and slower

A bit harsh on 2V brother . When 2V had a decent pack he took us to a grand final with his defensive structures , No one can coach donkeys to win a Melbourne cup
