Tolu try

The Great Toula Try credit must go to Seibold for having the foresight to see that Toula is one of the Great centres of our era
When you have freaks like Toula you do not need a game plan
No game plan stops Ex factor players
Toulas Brilliance would have made the Great Incomparable Immortal proud
Tolu = Speed Kills

Do you think Parker could have done something similar to pull the game out of the fire (pardon the pun)?

The vision of the Triple M call where Ginanne is commentating and Graham & Tallis are looking on is absolutely PRICELESS!!

Tallis stands there like a stone statue
Graham punches the wall in anger

**** em all I reckon , and that included those biased pricks on Fox & Nein who pre game only had eyes for the Bulldogs , and during the game only had words for the Bulldogs UNTIL this try , and then they were all gobsmacked!!

Bloody beautiful wasn’t it !!

****ing arseholes, they absolutely **** me to tears with their biased crap.

On the face of it, possibly yeah.

But the other side is that the player himself has to find a way. Tremendous runners such as James Roberts and even Kotoni Staggs (not that I've seen that many of their games) never seem to find as much as space as their talents suggest they should.

I'm certain it's something Seibold has been alert to as soon as he was signed to Manly. Let's hope something clicks soon to get Tolu tearing it up more, rather than just hitting it up!
I am sure the coaching staff are aware. Just disappointing that over 27 rounds we have not seen any variation in attack on that left side. Thinking for example a simple chip through or chip over the top.....4th / 5th tackle. With tolu's speed he would be odds on to get to the ball first. Worst case you would put the defensive line on notice for the next raid down that side. Either the defending winger will think about dropping back or the defensive FB coming up closer to the line. Either way that in itself presents an opportunity. Just relying on Tolu trying to out run / out ruck / out smart at least 2-3 defenders each time he gets the ball is not smart coaching. The kid is good but not that good. Needs some help with smart tactics / game plan.

They have tried that chip over previously but certainly not very often. I remember Tolu scoring from one (might have been last year at Brookie) and they try those short kicks for Saab. So they know it can work but they use it very sparingly.

It's only taken 15 odd years - but I finally get a peak behind the curtains about what MfB really thinks 😉

NRL has rated this try as the 4th most watched this season. Don't think we even appeared in the Top 20 in 2023.

People can say all they want about Koula vs Talau, but Koula is the only one with the ability to bring in new fans through his ridiculous plays like this. We are absolutely blessed to have someone of Koula's skill and ability.

I think I watched it about 500 times so that would have helped push it up the list

Try of the season for mine. Semi final, loosing the game with minutes to go, he then wins the game for us. Brilliant try. This kid is only going to get better. Just needs the coaching to go with him with smarter plays, game plans. We just need one or two per game!!!!

It's still as powerful to me as the day it happened; what a try!

The first 1000 times I watched it, were very much about DCE and Tom's nerve to even attempt the play and then of course, Koula's exploits. However, Brooks catch and pass was a thing of beauty.

I also love how Koula was jogging beside Sexton, who was running full-tilt, before Koula just accelerated in 2nd gear in the most effortless way. Quite amazing speed...then you've got that move he put on Connor Tracey.

Shame that Koula did have some injury issues last season and missing some matches and being affected by it in some others .
Maybe could have even got the side a bit closer to a top 4 spot if he was in no small way affected by it but obviously not ensuring it and even without those setbacks in the qualifying final against the Roosters including Toula 's early head knock , again doubt if it would have still swung the game that much in Manly 's favor .
Needed some basic improvements for that , especially in the pack and a fully fit Turbo .
Thing that i have always liked about Koula"s attitude is that he has definitely been prepared to back himself in attack or defence and really have a decent crack
Brilliant try and finishing against the Dogs and showing him at his best .
Plenty of good centres in the N R L and injury free , Koula is or can be right up there .
Just hope that he can stay or sign long term in Manly colors like Haumole

Even Garrick. Not sure what he was doing over there but he immediately realised what was on and passed (he actually passed!)

Really good effort by Garrick and then to manage the pressure for the crucial conversion .
Looked to have gotten an early head knock the following week against the Roosters which seemed to affect his general play a bit but can never discount his overall competitive and willing on field attitude
