Objectively I don’t see how we win a comp with the current owners.

Yes the NRL provides funding to the football operations. But there is a gap between funding and fielding a first grade side - players and coaching staff - and what is required to fund a top four side or more realistically a side capable of wining a comp. Other clubs can plug that gap with rivers of pokey money, top tier sponsorship or private benefactors. If you are simply covering the shortfall between the minimum required to fund a first grade side - or contributing nothing at all - surely you can’t be surprised that teams that spend more overall do better?

Tonights performance was very disappointing, yet tonight’s result was not surprising. Our coaching and playing rosters are not up to scratch to today’s NRL standard to be top 8 competitive and tweaks to these rosters are urgently required before its potentially spoon time… also that press conference tonight was omitting some very nervous vibes from both club leaders. Change is required now.

Well watched the captains run yesterday - zero intensity, essentially just little more than a few passes and kick the ball around. They had played like they train.

So many passengers - Burbo, Dollars, Garrick, Brown Froggy etc. TBH Turbo not much better.

Pre match function Mestrov said they are aware they have been disappointing but will turn things around - guess what unbelievable they could be worse.

Seibold can’t get them going and DCE is a cancer that needs to be removed now.
My son said watching the pregame warm up “why have they gone in so early?”

Have just got home from that sh*tshow circus.

DCE long checked out. Time to dropkick the prick out the door. NOW
Turbo is done. Cannot be re-signed he's lame.
Jurbo is done. Cannot be re-signed.
Forwards were all turnstiles. The whole fu*king lot need to go except Olakau'atu, Bullemore.
Garrick worst centre in the league.
Saab is sh*t rubbish.
Brooks needs to fukoff.
Seibold is an absolute failure.
This team is fuked beyond repair.
This club's future is now a bottom dwelling joke until we get new owners with serious money and drive to win.
Penn can fu*k right off.
Spare a thought Mick, I only just got home with my son to the north side of Brisbane - and he plays school footy tomorrow at 830am!. Over 2hrs to get down there this arvo as well!

Ffs I’m completely over this team. How the f$&@ can’t they beat that putrid Titans team. This is the last game I put my time aside to go and watch on the Gold Coast. F$&@ that!

Shout out to those who made the effort though. We deserve better than that s$&@. I couldn’t believe how many manly fans were there tbh. Seriously we outnumbered them 3-1 didn’t we? F$&@en cold tho!!!

Lastly, how have the Titans survived on the Gold Coast. They are such a nothing team. And even their fans don’t seem to be that into it.

I’m finishing my whisky then pissing off to bed. It was a generous pour as well!!!! Sick to f$&@en death of this team!

Right. So does it close off mid round?

ah ok. Must not be up mid game cause I couldn’t find it until just now. Thank you.
It’s not a horrible bet. It really isn’t. Comp is the tightest it’s been and we have proven we cannot beat the worst teams playing.

Just got on SB at $151 for the spoon @Chunkytuna $10 clams. In no way will I ever cheer to collect it, but far out man, I genuinely think we may be a chance to collect this year!

Honestly was feeling very upset pre game as I wasn't able to make it to the only Manly game that I have a bit of a chance to make it too, maybe have been only able to make it if I'm lucky every second or third year due to health/personal issues.

I was trying to make myself feel better thinking of any reason even if I was healthy like the cold weather.

After seeing that terrible performance, the only positive I'll take from it is that I didn't have to watch that live.
Still can’t sleep. Agitated would be an understatement.
I feel sorry for all the Manly fans that did make the game.
Heard the M-A-N-L-Y chant coming through, even when it was 22-8. At least those fans didn’t give up.

Injuries:

Manly forward Haumole Olakau'atu is facing an extended stint on the sidelines after dislocating his shoulder in his side's loss to the Titans on Friday night.

The injury came on a tough night for the club, with
Jazz Tevaga leaving the contest in the second half following a head knock.

Tevaga suffered the knock while making a tackle in the 52nd minute and left the field for an HIA after receiving treatment from a trainer. He was ruled out for the match soon after.

Olakau'atu then dislocated his shoulder while attempting to ground the ball for a try in the 60th minute, with the forward leaving the field in a fair amount of pain.

Sea Eagles coach Anthony Seibold said the forward will be sent for scans but fears he could be out for a minimum six weeks.

"He'll get scans over the weekend," Seibold said. "My understanding is if there's bone damage then potentially you have to do a reconstruction. If it's muscle only or ligaments only, then potentially you can rehab it over six weeks but he's going to be gone for a while.

"It summed up the night. He was going for a try and dislocates his shoulder. We'll miss him, he's a quality player."

Yeah, Manly supporters would of been squirming in their seats last night watching the rubbish served up. Not sure where we go from here now, our forwards have been decimated and what's left are old journey men and odds and sods from the Reggie's. How did we come to this.

Hard to come to terms with but just too many things working against this current Manly line up for a couple of months now to have any serious expectations they will be able to do that much better any time soon .
Know that the Titans for whatever reason have had the wood on Manly sides the past few seasons but that was definitely an under strength Titans side last night so just adds to the poor quality effort team wise from Manly .
Manly mid field defence or agility level has been a problem for a while now when subjected to a bit of pressure, so no easy answers there in the short term .
Turbo may still have something to offer but just not getting the ball or getting injected into the attack in favorable positions so can only think that Lehi would at least have a bit more individual flair to be a better option there right now .
Centre only other obvious position for Turbo and can only then result in Garrick reverting to wing Know that Saab is below par at the moment but most likely will be persevered with .
Can "t leave Talau out of the game day squad however on present form .
Not too sure if Seibs would take the drastic step of giving Talau a crack at 13 but with his aggressive style of play , again has to have some opportunity to give a boost .
Probably would be inclined to give Bully another crack on an edge instead of Ola .
Really going to have to shake things up a little bit , this current line up and team structure is going downhill in a serious way ,
Not too sure how to get D C E and Brooksy to a competitive and expected level again but has to be addressed somehow to avoid even a worse downslide going forward and especially with Ola out for whatever time

From the hill I can't see or know who in the team are carrying injuries into the games, but Seibold's post game interview shows frustration. Seibold said there were attitude problems & that's been hanging around since DCE announced that he's quit Manly. BTW Billy Slater looking like a good call on DCE for SOO 2.
Unfortunately we supporters need to reset expectations for the rest of the year.
Hopefully Seibold gives the injured a rest & brings new young hungry players into the team to see their future potential at Manly.
BTW - my last weeks post I still stand by...
Andrew May (Mental Skills Coach) & Jim Dymock (defence coach) - walk home together from Newcastle & have it finally figured out by the time you get back, or be sacked end of year!
