Tipping Comp

Two wrong so far. I'm tempted to change my tip to the Titans to guarantee a Manly win.

Who's in qualifying last place in the tipping comp for the footy?
To qualify for last, do you have to actually enter your tips for each or most rounds? Or just not put them in, get the away teams, and hope for the best works?

A couple of tipping comps I have been in also have a qualifying last place prize (usually double your money back) - they both had a rule where to qualify for last place prize you can only miss entering your tips for 1 round of the season - any more failures to enter them disqualifies you.

Other money comps I am in have also have the usual cash prize split for 1st, 2nd & 3rd places - I'd actually like to see a prize for 4th in such comps too - perhaps just a token "your money back" prize or something.
(Though that wouldn't work in smaller comps like this silvertails one I think).

Perhaps in this comp next year though, if there is enough support for such, you could charge $30 each, and then offer some token prizes for 2nd & 3rd as well as 1st - even something small, like this $30 48cm x 68cm print:

Or just a bumber sticker & coldie holder or something.
Etc.

Yeah for last you have to have entered your tips and paid, not every round, there is some level of discretion.

Next year will be similar but I will see what I can come up with for 2nd and 3rd, though I truly love the go for gold of first. thing

next year there will be a 2nd and 3rd prize, I am redoing the budget to pay for additionals and hopefully our generous doner will be back on board

1st place prize has been received ok - it's great!
I have flaunted it mightily to many of my footy-loving & tipping workmates - loved every second of it.
It now sits with great pride behind my bar, will take a few photos of it and post them soon.

Bar with both noprene and cardboard Sea Eagles coasters - in that wine rack by the way there is a couple of actual gameday Brookvale newspapers from games I went to during 2008.
(Bar fridge is empty as am cleaning it and refraining from using it to save electricity lately).
