Canteen Worker
First Grader
The uproar about Monas reminds me of Max Krilich and his story.
At the end of his career he was looking for a last contract. Manly downgraded his money significantly, despite that he was the former test hooker, was a club great and premiership captain. Instead of spitting the dummy and looking elsewhere he quietly took the lesser offer and gave 110% as he always did - no fuss as he loved the club and thought he had been given an good innings. He has to wait a long apprenticeship to get into first grade in the first place!
A few years after retirement he coached Premier League - won one game - and so retired from that role quietly without histrionics. He is still involved with the club, is a legend and one of my all time Manly favourites.
