The sky is falling....

Sky is falling - I gotta go clean the toilet!

Never marry anyone who just wont do any cleaning as they know you'll get sick of the mess and clean it up first!

sheesh

I'm just happy that we finally look to have a forward pack that can dominate games.. It's been a long time coming. We just need to follow a simple game plan and minimise errors / penalties and the rest will follow. From that perspective the sky is lifting IMO .

I have caught a replay to heavily digest it all....but re Croker the first thing I look for is that he is physically willing to have a go and get in the contest and back his own ability and make his tackles. I think he did most of those things. Few errors yes but they were errors trying to do positive things.

I actually look back at that game more confident he has a chance to succeed than I was prior to the game.

Only his 2nd game after all .... way to early. Same for us as a whole.

That is a very interesting comment ... when viewed in light of the fact ... that with the exception of Thommo (and last week he was not a major part of any dominance) ... all the other forwards were on our roster last year ...

To what do we owe our new found "dominant pack" to ....

Just to upset everybody, I will put it down to the brilliant way Baz has coached the side .... he has handled Lane and Kelepi flawlesly, not only identified them but brought them on like a supercoach should. All our other forwards have improved under his guidance.

Well done Baz.

The sky is lifting and the sun is sure to smile on all Manly supporters if the Eels fall on the weekend

Baz has done some good things with the team and its good to give credit when its due

I agree.

Look I don't understand the TBaz haters.. Like many others I had reservations on whether a non - manly coach + newbie would grasp our culture. But he has.

He's had to deal with a lot of constraints to the playing roster, and being down a recognised 5/8 wasn't part of the plan for 2018. We all know the story.

We all demand immediate success but it doesn't happen if the foundations of the club sit on shaky ground.

So despite all this he's managed to identify and develop a lot of nrl "rejects". We've got plenty of other potential superstars being nurtured in the fringes.

So once we understand what the outcome of the salary cap are we will be able to formulate a concrete plan and build from there.

Our future under TBaz is looking bright and 2018 isn't a right off. Not yet anyway.

Let's try what all great clubs do: make rash changes week to week, leave the coach feeling like he's constantly on the verge of being sacked and constantly remind the youth that they are unproven and worthless!

Lol 1 game in and its blame the referees already.. Get so over that after every single loss.. Put the refs aside for 2 seconds, whos fault is it that we were within fg range 3 or 4 times and the team had absolutely zero clue what to do when dce wasnt an option.. Thats players making poor decisions, thats coaches not drilling more than 1 person on clutch fg practice, thats boards for not bothering to find a legit halves partner for dce with legit nrl experience...
The sky isnt falling, its 1 game, there a whole season to go, but ffs, lets not whinge and b@$th and moan about the refs after every single loss ok???

It is also a case that some of the more vocal characters after a loss nailed their flags (and credibility) so strongly to the Barrett is a dud mast in 2016 .... the very thought of him being successful fills them with horror ...

Even the slightest set back sends them into an orgasmic state of anticipation of being able to yell from the roof-tops ... WE TOLD YOU SO!!

Woodsy for god sake will you let it go, Who do you think you are, the positivity police? None of us ever wanted Barrett to fail, but we were concerned about his garbage coaching record previous to him back dooring our club legend. That obviously doesn't bother you but some of us here were annoyed about it.We are happy to move on, clearly you want to keep stirring up old shyte. I know I was concerned about us becoming a team that is brilliant in patches and mediocre for the most part, just like Barrett was. Unfortunately at the moment that is what we look like, we are so much like a St George team now it is not even funny. Just be aware your hero Barrett has achieved nothing of any note yet, just keep that in mind before you start the next positivity police circle jerk.

You were going half ok starting with .. let it go ... and then you showed the true colour of your undies by dredging up this ridiculous piece of mythological garbage, straight from the "I hate Barrett and my bum hurts handbook."

And if tossers didn't crawl out from under the fridge every time we lose a game screaming "it's all Barretts fault , he should of taught Tom how to tackle by now" ...
then there would be no need for a police circle jerk

Simple fact is I would prefer Jack Gibson to be coaching us ... but he is ****ing dead .. so Barrett 's the Manly coach and therefore has my 100% support .... and as such I will defend him against bull**** abuse from slimy Parra fans and from bum sore white-ant Manly fans.

Did Barrett back-door Toovey? Surely club bosses did the shafting, not Barrett.

I also don't think that a person's traits as a player necessarily flow on to his coaching career. Stephen Kearney, Mal Maninga, Ricky Stuart, etc all immediately come to mind. Consistently excellent players, yet consistently terrible NRL coaches, and not people I would want anywhere near Manly.

I agree we traditionally go better with a Manly man as head coach, but the players have obviously bought in to whatever Barrett is selling and that is good enough for me.
