Just a reminder ... the question is ... are we putting the right administration, structures, personnel and culture together to succeed over the next 5 years.

NOT ... are we going to win a premiership next year.

This goes well beyond the inclusion of a couple of budget additions to the current playing group and any immediate change.
I just read it ‘ how are y’all feelin’

I got up to mischief last night so I’m feeling great !!

Just sayin’

I believe we will improve on last season and finish top 4. We have some special players and if we have a good run on the injury front I believe the hunger will be there particularly with the likes of DCE and Turbo Tom which will rub off on the younger guys. Saab, Koula and Hopoate are all capable of setting the world on fire so to have all 3 in our team really livens our attack. I expect Garrick to dominate and come back better in defence.

I watch 5mins of The Manly Way and I'm frothing at the mouth, ordering GF tickets, buying signed premiership merchandise etc etc etc. Thank you all for bringing back down to earth with some valid points in here, but yes I'm definitely optimistic.

I am actually quite optimistic and positive with the management and coaching team now in place. Really impressed with both Tony Mestrov but also Anthony Seibold. I "failed" Seibs for his 24 performance on some very specific points that I don't think he adequately addressed but overall really impressed with the guy. I also like some of the recent administration changes made by the management team. So I am confident we have the right guys steering the ship and the right administration / coaching team in place. The challenge these guys now face is exactly the same challenge we have faced last 2-3 years. I think these challenges are somewhat structural and entrenched around our players, cap, positions and game plans so the fix wont be easy and will likely take a couple of years. However I am very confident SOME of these challenges will be addressed in 25 and if the case, I think we have a better shot at the title in 25 v 24.

I'm optimistic, but with Waddell, burbo, froggy and Garrick in the 17 we won't be a genuine premiership threat.
Waddell won't be in the 17.

Burbo on the bench is fine with me, but he needs to improve to make that starting second row position his.

Garrick would be fine if he were on the wing!

Croker I agree, I really really hope Simpkin steps up and forces his way into that 9 jersey.

The thing that makes me most optimistic about success in the coming years is that we’ve managed to keep most of our playing group together for the last couple of years and going forward as well. I’m a big believer in coherence amongst players and coaches. I think most successful clubs have it in spades full.

Well ... 2025 has dawned and I'm liking the budget buy incremental additions to the squad.

Not one of them on his own is a game changer .. but collectively I feel they add well seasoned depth ... we already had enough game "winners"

I think Seibs had, like us, identified that we had the flash ... just needed more GRIT.

Taukeiaho and Jazz Tevaga should provide a bit of muscle, experience and grit to the forward rotation.

While the crop of talented youngsters recruited will make the next 2-3 years exciting ... which after all is the mission statement.

A premiership in the 2020's

Why not a Premiership in 2025 ?
DCE , Jake and Turbo have The Window of opportunity widen open
Seibold needs to open up the blinds and see for him self

Definitely a possible in 25. Probably a probable. We have had some good buys with solid experience and some outstanding youth which combined I think will complement the team this year nicely. We just need some luck with injuries and some smart(er) / gutsier decisions with coaching and individual positions. The premiership is there for the taking no doubt.

Here is the Winning Prize feathered friend
It is there for the taking
It is all up to us
and It is all about the Way we go about it
We either go The Manly Way and we Excel or we succumb to more Excuses

If those two budget buys can add some grit & starch and help shore up our ( at times ) dreadful defence then yes anything is possible.

Taukeiaho, wanted half a million bucks to play this season (which every club refused), and apparently Manly offered $400k. Is that honestly a budget buy for a player people are hoping plays 10-15 games? I think it's pretty good coin.

Where did you see Manly offer him that kind of money for the year?? That would be totally bizarre to go from a $1000 a week train & Trial deal to $400k within a month of pre season training. Ridiculous if true.

If they did ... he must be ticking a few very big boxes ...

What did the Bulldogs just pay for Leo Thompson, I heard $950k

Honestly $300-$400 in this modern game is pretty much bargain basement

Yep -

If they wouldn't offer Lodge more than 150k then they aren't offering Taukeiaho 400k.
