The referees made a crucial error that cost Manly the game

Please, we had 79 minutes and 55 seconds to overcome the first ref error. We also had 75 odd minutes to overcome the setback against the Dragons.

I dont think you need the obvious spelt out to you, do you ? ( a sht decision with 10 to go is harder to overcome than one made on the opening play).

Good teams overcome adversity. Simple as that.

And as has been said repeatedly....if we kick the ball to land on the tryline instead of the dead ball line, then we take all chance of ref fk ups out of the equation....we can control that aspect at least.

Simple way to solve that problem is not to kick it that bloody close to the dead ball line to start with. Jacks could have let that ball go and it would have went dead, so why even put yourself in a position where you are relying on the ref to make a decision to start with. Not once, but twice yesterday - it's just dumb.
Australian pace bowlers and the ****ing crease is the first thing i can think of

Batsman stands outside the ****ing crease to decrease the swing so why not bowl from the ****ing hopping crease?

2 different sports same lunacy by the pros

Absolute dribble, with no proof at all.

Besides in that time we did overcome the crap decision and were the better team, won the last 78 minutes 26-24. Therefore we are a good team that got robbed by your logic.

What about 2013? What a bunch of crap players, and 2007, can't believe we couldn't overcome cheats, same goes for 1997 getting run down by drug cheats.

Beaver - what a crap player, in 2 of those teams.

Scam Smyth and his team must be pretty crap too because they got lucky and barely held on after being gifted a great start against a team which isn't any good apparently. What a joke they are at the top of the ladder.

But not many think we are a good team but have the makings of a good team. To get to the next level we need to be given a fair go so we can make the finals and gain important finals experience as we grow.

No doubt a dud call
No doubt there will be more
Would not have heard any more about it if Manly won the game
To use a poor early call as an excuse for 30 first half points....No
The annoying fact is, with this young team, will need to tough out some adversity to go to that next level and this instance again, shows Manly are still off the pace.

Well personal insults aside fluffy and forty...

Manly have a positive win % in the history of the club.
Dud calls happen each and every game. Literally every game....against both teams competing in said game.

Stats and history tell me that good teams overcome dud ref decisions.

Are you inferring that the refs didn't cost us the GF against the Rorters?
You've got to be kidding. It was one of the biggest stitch ups ever.

Are you inferring that we didn't have ample opportunity to win the game, regardless of dud calls ?

If you are, I suggest a re-watch may be in order.

Do you agree with your own quote or not?........ "Stats and history tell me good teams overcome dud ref decisions" If so Manly of 2013 fame was not a good team.

Im you cant see that the quote is a generalisation, then I cant help you. If you want to break it down to specific games over our 70 year history then go right ahead.

The original point still stands....we had 79 mins and 30 secs to get over a dud call against Melbourne.
We werent afforded that luxury in the 2013 GF.

I would argue the dud calls cost us opportunities in the GF.

We still created enough chances to win it reagrdless.
We still made enough errors/ bad plays to lose it ( hi wolfman) regardless.

To be brutally honest, maybe Manly doesnt even make the GF unless we had a few calls go our way at some point during the season or finals period ???

History and stats would also tell you that a good team leading 30 to 6 at half time never almost get beaten especially when they have 3 of the best players ever and the best coach ever as well as a bonus 6 points. Yeah crap isn't it. Making a declaration and then calling it a generalisation isn't something I need help with. Where are these stats that list good teams ? I assume we're not on the list yet. Melbourne had 79 mins and 30 secs to nail us to the wall after being given a six point lead and they didn't go close , get rid of Bellamy. Oh hold on I'm sounding like you. Helllllp!

Last time I checked Melb did enough to win the game on the weekend ?

I find it amusing that we aren't discussing the occasions when we have had calls go our way and won games "off the back of them ".
Foran's Hand of God vs Cowboys springs to mind, and I will lay my left nut we could watch that game again and find a call that went against us at some point in that game too.

It seems that we are going to have to agree to disagree here overall.

And just on the Hand of God call...we all bagged Thurston mercilessly for crying about the Sydney bias, anti Cowboys bullsht at the time. Seems hypocritical right now, especially as we had the whole game to overcome our bad call, Cowboys didnt get that luxury.

Again with the left nut call!...Why? the left one. Testicular discrimination is what it is!@:(

This is like arguing the winner of the stall gift is the fastest runner there.

Whilst there are examples of this being the case there are plenty of good runners who cannot overcome the handicap.

Did anyone in the media report on the foot being up in the air....and also that a current player commented on this? (Surprised they didn't hit him with a fine to be honest.)

I mean the last dud call, Greenburg came out and said it was the right one....but has any 'journo' made mention of this or has anyone from the nrl told us they are right and we are wrong yet?
