The recession we had to have

there is just so much wrong with the joint. From top to bottom and everywhere inbetween. Without embarrasment we may have to go on for a couple more years thinking we are close. We are not..
Hopefully this may stir some action
Fell sorry for a few of the players.
Some have ir coming
Coaching staff have it coming

The dysfunction that has dogged the club has really come home to haunt this team. We are in a right pickle due to the terrible administration of the cap, player roster and the atmosphere at Brookvale is as flat as the bad old days of the Northern Eagles, the professionalism that once was our pride is gone and it needs to return if we are to ever return as a force!

The sad fact is we as a club can't compete at any level in this competitoon anymore. Our ground is a joke. Memberships are lowest of all, home crowds the same. Financially our corporate tpa's are minimal that's why we had to try and do them against the guidelines. Coaching dept runs on minimal budgets as does strength and conditioning. This isn't just a bad patch of form. This to me is smelling of death. The death of this great club may be in our future soon unless something changes dramatically.

I fear you are right, and it could be sooner rather than later!

I wonder how long until the Roosters offer the Turbo's $1mil a season each.

Because once they go, and they should, we are dead.

I feel bad for them. If they were at, say, the dragons, they'd be absolutely carving up. They will be waiting several years to be in a side that is a legit premiership threat if they stay with us.

This is not a recession! this is now a depression!

Again disagree

We didn't have to fire a perfectly good coach for a cuck who couldn't even make the finals with the best junior club in the ****ing league

Everyone who was involved in that decision has ****ed the club
Sacking and paying out Toovey had nothing to do with coaching ability, it was because Toovey was more aligned with the Quantum Group and MWDRLFC when it was under joint ownership, the fact that we were going poorly at the time was the excuse to sack him.

9th weren’t we? A lot of unrest amongst players and no 50 point floggings from memory
Gee I think most on here would swap our current situation for the one Toovey has us in
My take is that we are still feeling the ripple effect 7 yrs later of the mis handling of Des s contract. The domino s just keep falling bothched negotiations of DCE Foran cap errors poor signings Miles etc and then finally Barret who may be a good coach but is to inexperienced for a place like Manly who needs a hard head like a Toovey ,Hasler or even McGuire
A dark day indeed but I shall keep looking for that silver lining on an otherwise gloomy horizon
Go Manly

If we get the spoon we get the spoon. We’ll live through it. What has me more concerned is that the NRL and the owners don’t just seem to be out to destroy us this year, they seem to be bent on destroying the Sea Eagles brand. The way they all but ignored the celebration of the 2008 grand final suggests they don’t want fans to draw links between the current rabble and the great teams of the past. When they close the doors and transfer the license to a new area - and the Turbos go to play for the Roosters who will still have a $million left in their cap - I may be able to support the team if they are (for example) the Christchurch Sea Eagles but I won’t have a team if they morph into the Central Coast Bears.

Do you really thing they would want Tom Turbo over Tedesco .... !

The bleeding obvious is that the club as it stands in unsustainable without heavy financial investment. Our club desperately needs stability, starting at the top. The shoestring budget approach is failing!! We need professionalism that has deserted us, that starts in the front office, The my way or the highway attitude of our owners and their minions is killing our club, criticism of their performance is shut down, the way the football club is frozen out illustrates their attitude. Our club is so divided right now.

Solutions?
Start being honest with the fans and members. What the hell is going on with Brookvale oval??

Dissolve the relationship with Blacktown and get all of our players under the one umbrella, after seeing our minor grades over the last two weeks it is obvious that our problems start with our total lack of depth.

Once this appeal is done, either way, get a plan together to make sure IT NEVER HAPPENS AGAIN!!!

We need our legends around the club to coach the younger players about your values and culture that are being destroyed by this current administration.

We need a coach who is not afraid to make the tough decisions and get the team playing the Manly way which is aggression in defence and adventurous attack. We used to play without fear and now its a measure of damage control.

A defeat like yesterday is a signal that it can't go on like this!!

Over to you owners!!!

He was aligned with the side everyone thought would take over, in hindsight the side that would've been best for manly

In 2015, Toovey's last year, we were coming off VERY successful years , grand finalists in 2013, second in the minor premiership in 2014, so we still had the basis of a very solid team, however you could say that we underachieved coming only ninth, and we still had floggings, Parra 42-12, Brisbane 44-10, NQ 30-12 and Roosters 46-10, our backline consisted of, Stewart, Tafua, Lyon, Mattai, and Hiku, halves pairing was Foran and DCE, I would say that backline is far superior to what we had yesterday, probably Manly's worst ever backline, apart from Tom T, and perrhaps Kelly, none of those guys would make it into another team's backline.
Not here do defend Barrett, just that the quality of our playing roster is so dire after the first 17 players, that we were never going to perform well if injuries came, and they did .
No one is spewing out as to how the cowboys have been going, and their roster and expectations were far greater than ours
