The Realistic Cleanout

Real. I think moving tom to centres and everything else we get away with tom at 500 and thats probably ok
Not sure about jake, champion at everything but todays game

Just too many of the same type of players -old and lumbering.

Id keep TKO - but Brown, Sipley, Lodge, James can definitely go.

Arthur, GCKT and Matterson can go as we have enough back up in those positions (assuming Walsh can step up if needed.)

Aloiai (retired) and Schoupp seem like they are gone

Croker and Waddell I'm ok keeping assuming they are depth only.

I'm okay with releasing Saab if someone comes in and pays the full contract price.
Let’s get fresh youth, Waddell and Crocker are rubbish and should not ever run on Brookvale ever again as players.

Personally I don't feel we should be going after Da Silva. Watching Zaidas in Cup, and with the performances of Simpkin, think we will be alright at 9 provided Croker, Tevaga are not selected in this position, AND, importantly, we land the Warriors duo Fatialofa and Crosby. Both guys highly impressive in a nearly unbeaten Warriors side in the NSW Cup. These are 2 signings we absolutely must make if we are to improve our forward stocks for next season.

2026
01 Hopoate
02 Garrick
03 Koula
04 Trbojevic, Faulalo
05 Talau
06 Brooks, Large
07 Fogarty, Walsh
08 Paseka
09 Simpkin
10 Taukeiaho
11 Ola'akautu
12 Trbojevic
13 Trbojevic, Tevaga, Navale
14 Muagututia, Large
15 Fatialofa, Hart, Dunford
16 Bullemor, Waddell
17 Crosby, Laifai

Contracted players that should be looking elsewhere - Saab, Croker, Brown
No more extensions for - Sipley, GCKT, James, Matterson, Arthur, Schoupp
Gone already - DCE, Aloiai

Recruitment team can't honestly say that we don't have available funds for 2026, even with upgrades to current deals
So keep Jurbo & release Saab? Ok Lolol. This love affair with the Trbojevic’s will continue to be a reason the club stays a midrange team. Our backs have not been the problem over the past few years & this year. The forwards have! Yet you wanna keep outdated, slow, plodders as people call them? The clubs priority should be to bring in a few fresh young forwards not decimate our backs! The calls for Saab, Garrick, Koula to be released is a fu<king joke. But hey let’s hold onto Turbo, Jurbo, Lodge, Waddell etc.
We have a decent 9 in Simpkin along with Zaidas & Large but hey let’s go for TDS. Paseka, Olakau’atu, Bullemore & Aloiai are the only forwards we have / had that have made any impact with Brown & TKO thereabouts. I’m not convinced re Burbo, Navale yet!!
If the club is serious about progress then hard decisions need to be made!

Saab

Just my opinion……

Hi mate,
Do you know if we are after Fatialofa and Crosby or is this wishful thinking?

These two are exactly the types we should be looking at to rebuild and I hope there is something to it.

Wouldn’t hurt to look through the Panthers, Roosters and Dogs lower grades for some promising youngsters also.

Any info would be appreciated mate. Cheers

Probably train and trial at the Tigpies with his brothers.
I realise you're probably joking but...
his sentence was 8 years, so even after his earliest release date of Oct 2026 he'll still be on parole until 2030.
Does anyone think the NRL would allow someone to play while they are still serving a sentence (albeit hopefully by then in the community) for stabbing a person in the back? I think not

With regards to Jake, I apologise for mistakenly reading the title of this thread as the "realistic" clean out. Is it realistic to think that Jake Trbojevic will be kicked out of Manly before his current deal expires?

Releasing Saab may seem counter-intuitive, but if we are to recruit 2-3 promising forwards, on top of planned upgrades, we will need to free up some additional cap space. It would also have to be at the expense of someone of reasonable market value. And since we look to be re-signing Talau, Saab is the one I personally would look to off-load (remember, Garrick will most likely be shifting back to wing to accommodate Turbo).

I agree with the majority of what you write but you say we must bring fresh new forwards whilst not "decimate" our backs. Releasing 1 back is hardly a decimation. And to think we can balance our roster better without making any compromises at all is not just "unrealistic", it's actually a little ridiculous.

Go Manly

Just rumours at this stage. Absolutely we need these 2

yea, just a joke. If he was allowed that would put Manase at age 28 on parole release date. What a wasted talent Manase was.

Why does Turbo have to go to Center? Why? If he’s good enough ok but he’s not! He’s unreliable & forcing another back out of the club to accommodate his 10 games a season is wrong! Unfortunately he should go not Saab or any other back! Like I said I’m over the Trbojevic love affair & reputation.
