The optimistic post game summary

I think this game is just a write off. It was a quicksand type of game where every small thing that went our way was compounded. On reflection I don't believe we should put too much angst into it. Let's have a look shall we....30 minutes out of 80 with a man down, raped by the referee for debatable infringements, I saw a high tackle penalty go against the tigers then a few minutes later we get a sin bin for a high tackle penalty. We all know we have defensive lapses. If we fix that up we will be a force. We had a lot of chances at the backend of the game. On another day we win. That to me says we have the potential and we at least battle to the end. In conclusion I'd just like to say that the referee can get f÷×ked and I like dancing on the ceiling.

Sorry to rain on this optimistic summary, but Seibold has had near on 2 years to fix the defensive lapses

Fix up our defensive lapses? Like, Seibolda had 2 seasons now to sort it?

You think he'll magically sort all our issues by next week?

This club has had problems for 10+ seasons now and we're a mid table nothing club now. One top 4 finish in 10 seasons is a joke considering our history.

Yeahhhh right… if we fix our blah blah blah, we will suddenly be a force against the best teams after being smacked by triple spooners. 🤣🤣🤣

I think its a real possibility that I wrote this post to feel better about what we just witnessed....on the other hand it did feel like a stitch up. We have potential but we ARE NOT a champion team.

Seibold said an interesting thing in his pre-game interview - that we are a top 4 team in attack but are 6th defensively.

I’m assuming that is based on our for & against, so if true, we’re not so bad defensively after all.

I think that was our biggest loss margin this season?

We were getting flogged on occasion by 38 points 4 years into Des v2, before the jersey round. We aren't going to win the competition this year, but we have looked a lot better than most seasons since 2014.

14-0 against Souths was our biggest loss this season.

I like your optimism

Yeah on points conceded per match.

Not the night for it, but things are never as good or as bleak as things are made out on here.

The worst part is we are basically stuck with this squad for the next few seasons.

That was a dreadful performance from our (full strength minus Talau) team with a chance to 100% lock in a finals place against the team coming stone motherless. I had a gut feeling this would happen tonight but watching it unfold was painful.

Discipline was disgraceful and after the first sin bin our leadership players should have drummed it into everyone’s thick skulls that the ref was waiting for us to slip up.

The ref was a thief but fk me dead we gave him ammo.

Now we face the Dogs and Sharks who are genuinely fighting for that all important 4th place and have to hope the Dolphins slip up to lock in a finals place. The Luke Brooks hoodoo of never playing a finals game is hovering over him again and the Tigs kept that hoodoo alive tonight for him.

The only slither of silver lining/optimistic thing tonight is now the Tigs can potentially get off the bottom by the end off the season and hand the spoon to TBaz and the Eels.

I must say the one true positive is we got through injury free that's the biggest thing come semi finals healthy roster. Also turbo almost got us that win he was head and shoulders above everyone else and is fast finding his elite form .
As for the other players we had several below par performances it might be the rocket we need.

I honestly believe we will be up for the Bulldogs.
We're going to have to be, mate.

Can't share the optimism (primarily because the evidence suggests nobody can teach our clowns to tackle), but have to say more power to you for even trying to find a bright side to look at. Wish it was in me to do the same🙂

Played 30 minutes of football with a man down, that alone puts pressure on holding shape in defence, though the middles defence was terrible tonight..

It’s a bit like the Sydney tram System. Used to be a magnificent, far reaching, and fully functional network. Then they ripped it out.

Now they tried to rebuild it in modern times. Paid way overs and got about a 10th of performance, and it would cost more to rip out than it was to put in.

Yeah, all talk of deserved or not, ill discipline yada yada...if we have zero sin bins we win by plenty IMO.

Frustrating game, half the team were as equally as terrible as Gough.

Hopefully the wake up call we need.
