The NRL Is Taking Concussion Very, Very Seriously

Last night on NRL 360 they said that if the NRL is serious about head knocks then they need to increase the number of players on the bench... i agree with this as you should have an 18 or 19th man permitted to be used if a player is concussed and can't return (thinking backline players here)

Another interesting point was if the game is the GF what happens? You think that a coach would be given backing by the club to leave their superstar players on regardless of the fine?

NRL appointed doctors... have my doubts on this too

As expected...the reductions are in:

CEO Todd Greenberg said fines totalling $350,000 had been imposed on the Gold Coast Titans, St George Illawarra Dragons and Newcastle Knights.

He said that, following consideration of submissions from each club, the penalties would be:

o Gold Coast Titans $50,000 (with a further $100,000 suspended) for incidents involving Kane Elgey and Ryan Simpkins

o St George Illawarra Dragons $50,000 (with a further $50,000 suspended) for an incident involving Josh Dugan

o Newcastle Knights $50,000 (with a further $50,000 suspended) for an incident involving Brendan Elliot
