The Ladder !!!

For many years as a Manly supporter watching where we were on the ladder has been addictive. Three years ago going for the premiership two years ago making the eight last year not making it and this year just avoiding the spoon. Thank God for the Knights, as the other cellar dwellers are all finding form. Reality really sucks some times.

In our last 7 we have won 4 and had very narrow losses in the other 3, to Cows, Eels and Dogs. Our last 2 losses were matches we probably deserved to win but couldn't quite ice.
Point being, yes - our position on the ladder is terrible, but - we have been finding form too.

Rehashed an old thread instead of starting a new one but we might be in 7th (maybe even 6th) place next Sunday night!!!

If you look at the teams with us on 8 points it is entirely possible that they all lose their next game whilst we should beat the donkeys (surely?)....

the knights may get over the tigpies but that is no guarantee and you would hope that it would be a tighter scoreline than our game anyways....

Also the storm are every possibility of putting 40 or 50 points on the dragqueens so 6th place is not totally out of the question...

amazing what a difference Tom has made to this side that only had the bulldogs behind them on the table after 5 rounds with 1 win from 5 games and a -211 point f/a....

plus we have the Eels at Bankwest the following week which will be tough but then we go...
Knights (10th) - away
Bye
Titans (7th) - away
Bulldogs (16th) - away
Raiders (12th) - home
Dragons (6th) - home
Wests Tigers (15th) - home
Sharks (13th) - home

We should win at least 6 of those 9 games which, with the bye, puts us on 22 points....

then its a mostly hard run home against Storm (h), Eels (h) and Raiders (a), Bulldogs (h) (the easy one) and Cows (a).... there's another 4 points there surely???

that puts us (conservatively) on 26 points....

If Tom stays fit and we do not lose too many more to injury then we suddenly have a real good look at finals football - altho top four is still not realistic so it will probs be one or two games in the post-season...

Cows may upset an injury ravaged chooks. They might finally actually field a salary cap compliant side this week while $10mil sits on the sidelines
Yeah I agree with you here Mick. Game is in Qld, the crowd will be right behind them.

Sam Walker is good, but how long until the hype-train derails? Run JT at him a few times and he might start getting some jitters. Rooters are fast losing troops, whereas the Cowboys big cheese are just starting to flex a little bit.

Most likely upset of the super round for me, followed closely by Warriors over Eels.
