Brown obviously focused the knights on stopping Tom (and attempting to stop DCE). In the end that allowed our edge players the space they needed to create a few tries as they were so focused on what TT was doing at times. This is sometimes what the best players give you - they make the other team change their game plan to try and stop them. It was one thing Laurie Daly was underrated due to - he just made everyone else around him look better.

Nobody is bagging Tom, he is the jewel in our crown.

He just didnt have HIS best game today. But his best game is so ridiculously good that his quieter games are still way above average.

Anyway this is a positive thread about about us thumping a team when not in 5th gear so lets leep it positive

Tom played pretty average today apart from a few good plays, and we still pumped them.. Sign of a good team when you can score 30 on a day ur star attacking player was poor

......the reason I highlighted it in the first place.

I respectfully disagree. He was pretty poor to what he normally is.. How many coughed up balls in general play were there today? Atleast 3 that I remember (which prompted the callers to mention how despite how good he is, he has an error or 2 in him)

His defence Was solid, but just had an off night In my opinion.. Everyone has them

Turbo didn't have his best game and our forwards were outmuscled for probably 60 minutes.

Overall we were a bit flat and a bit clunky......yet we still beat a top 8 contending team by 24 points.

That bodes VERY well for us

I would rate todays performance about a 6 out of 10, the defence was good and solid. The first half the team was off the boil and too many errors in our own half. Loved the play between the 50th and 70th minute, really killed off the game once the refs allowed us to play faster. The first 50 minutes was all about drugcastle being allowed to slow the game down by Pettinara!

Played how I was expecting us too, a bit tired and flat, we stoked to come away with the win

DCE intercept showed how tired they are, hopefully Des gives them til Tuesday or Wednesday off

If we keep winning we will likely finish 3rd. If we have one loss (which can't really be against the Raiders) then we'll likely finish 4th.

Yes, it was completely farcical. Particularly when they then penalised us for less.

Helps to not have the referee calling all your passes forward and awarding BS penalties to your opponent.

Melbourne always get an easy run from the refs.

After last week's win against the storm and backing it up with the big win today the media is taking our team seriously all of a sudden. So long for staying under the radar even though Des is a master in his press conferences at talking himself and the team down

For me, the best news to come out of the 2 points and 24 for and against margin win, is NO injuries.

Just noting, the Api/Fainu combo is a VERY big part of our current and future success. Des must be tearing his hair out thinking about balancing our cap against keeping these 2 together. Even when eithers' performance may not be greatly prominent, their combination is.
He ain't no fool.

Just looking at the ladder and next week's games, if we beat the Warriors and Souths lose to Melbourne (very likely) we could take thier spot in the top 4 if I'm not mistaken.
