The Finals thread:

Costly dropped ball from Warbrick that led to the Broncos going ahead. However, there was a lot of fatigue in the Storm pack and their bench was shown up by Brisbane’s middle. The Storm looked a couple of forwards short tonight. Stefano is a pretender and there wasn’t much else getting them over the ad line. Meaney was given a bath by Shibasaki on a couple of occasions, but losing the ruck in the middle meant a retreating defence. Basically, I think Brisbane ran harder and tackled harder and wanted it more.
NAS says hello! What a lump. He will be remembered as the biggest loser x 2 years running.

Not my fault you didn't drag mum half an hour to the border to give birth to me, you should be proud enough of your manly brainwashing to work out, I've seen many failed attempts by parents. In fact I sometimes wonder if you regret the brainwashing now that I don't go a day without talking footy and that when I get my bloods done it comes out maroon and white instead of red.
It wasn’t all my brainwashing. A lot of it can be contributed to @Mark from Brisbane and @vidmar along with certain members of the Manly Travelling Supporters Club ( you know who you are!lol). I think they would be very proud of their contribution to the making of a Manly girl for life

Honestly we should also be thanking the people that sold the hotdogs, chips and soft drink because that was the real selling point.

Losing howarth screwed them. It would be like us Losing kolau and simpkin playing there for 70 minutes.

Agreed on Shiba and also Stefano he's a cat 🐈

That was the best grand final performance by a player I can remember seeing
Clearys 20 minutes against the Broncos was the best imo. Didn't he set up 3 tries score the decider and kick the winning goal? Maybe I'm mistaken.. he also stopped Reynolds trick shot drop out. Walsh did play better over the 80 but that 20 from Cleary was just ridiculous

Crazy game, it's have certainly eaten my words earlier in the year with Madge
He steered the ship around and proved alot of doubters wrong
Fair play and well deserved

Aha fair call he did just run that game.

I will correct myself and say it was equal to that

It’s a shame someone so arrogant and obnoxious is setting the NRL alight. It’d be easier to enjoy someone humble being so talented.
For all his outstanding play, my favourite moment from Reece Walsh last night was when Ben Hunt was in Disneyland and stumbling back towards the defensive. It was Walsh who ran up and stopped him, hugged him, and told him everything was going to be okay. He may be a show pony and yes, he paints his nails, but that said something about a bloke who cares about his teammates to me.

Yeah it’s one thing to do that in a club game but to produce a performance like that against Melbourne in a grand final is very special. It’s a shame someone so arrogant and obnoxious is setting the NRL alight. It’d be easier to enjoy someone humble being so talented.

Bar humbug. Let the kid be. He will learn to tame it down as he gets older.
He might be arrogant, but he is a good sport and never gets nasty on the footy field.

I would much rather watch Walsh than the robots of Penrith and most other players.

The try he scored was ridiculous, all determination
But his biggest play and there were a lot was a tackle he made with 3 or 4 minutes remaining when the storm looked certain top score on the right.. he hit like a missile.

Haha yeah agree, it was tongue n cheek mate.

Was going to add DCE, Glenn Stewart, Tooves and Cliffy as well.
Also if you watch the 96 grand final the work spud and cement put in....well that was something else!

Not sure which poster it was but they used to have a signature along the lines of "props win comps"

With you on Reynolds, when he came off I thought, good, they don't really need him. By then Mam and Walsh were proving impossible to contain as the Storm started to fray on the edges and ultimately caved in in the last 15min.
I wonder if Reyno / hunt stay on the field if Walsh takes over as much as he did (but then again they would have defended better out wide so who knows)

The storm getting done in another grand final made me think about what the dogs did this year with shaking up their 6/7 with Galvin

Melbourne are the ultimate club team where you need to be at your best to beat them but seem to be unable to overcome outstanding individuals when it comes to a grand final. It is why next year they will be there or there abouts again for the regular season.

I think the dogs were heading down the same path and see Galvin as another player to take them to the next level (jury is out if he actually does) rather than just being a minor premiership team.

Wash was defending a 2 on 1 and he picked right when he levelled Paps.
