And if all the advantages they get weren't enough already, the NRL give them a nine day turnaround before the big dance next weekend. It really is deplorable. No other sport would dare to openly display such blatant favouritism toward ones side. If the Storm lose next weekend it will be a massive fail.

I understand the reason for the schedule. The NRL probably should have put the Melb-Cronulla match on at 8pm on Saturday. The AFL grand final would have had three hours to clear away the congestion, and it might also have tempted some AFL fans to attend the match after watching the GF across the road.

Imagine handing one side such a clear advantage in a championship game. They're scared the AFL might show up the Melbourne Storm illusion for what it is. A farce.

Solution. Hand Melbourne another enormous leg up and hope they win so Peter V'Landys can wax lyrical about what great shape the game is in.

It's a clown show and a very corrupt one to boot.

Rubbish straw man argument. Elite players in every spine position during his entire career. They buy the very best junior talent from Qld and the only adversity they have ever faced was when someone on the inside blew the whistle on the multi million dollar salary cap fraud they had been running for years. Cheats are cheats are cheats. Do you really think Pezet knocked back a five year 4 million dollar deal to play third string halfback in reserve grade? They are the darlings of the NRL.

The Pezet deal is certainly suss.

The problem with all the nostalgia folk wanting a 3pm kick off afternoon grand final to come back is that the Oct long weekend game is now 2 weeks closer to summer than the mid September grand finals, plus it is daylight saving.

In other words, it won't be 3pm mid September like it used to be. It will be 2pm and in October. Even sitting on the eastern side of Homebush will be like a day at the cricket test. The footy on the field, like footy in Feb and March, will be rubbish.

I would only support the change if the grand final is held mid Sept.
