The Finals thread: (week 1)

Fu*ksake we've bought a defensive dud.
It took 25 games but it appears that people have worked out that Fogarty, Hosking and Tomoko just aren't working.

Surprisingly, Hosking on the inside (of Fogarty) is really trying to push up and not helping his cause by not "calling" or "working" Fogarty into place by ensuring that Fogarty comes into play as the second defender... You look where Timoko is and he is so far to the right of Fogarty that an offload would have resulted in a try anyway.

And Hosking's so ineffective on that tackle he rushed up got bumped off instantly and took Fogartys space leaving him with no center of gravity to have any power in his tackle

If Canberra lose tonight, then 2025 will definitely be the year of the worst performed Minor Premiers.

The Adelaide Crows have already created history by being the first side in AFL history (since 1990) to win the Minor Premiership (like Canberra, with a game in hand), them bombing out in straight sets in the Finals with 2 losses.....at home.

If Canberra lose tonight.....same thing. First NRL Minor Premiers to bomb out in straight sets with 2 home Final losses.
This is an amazing stat in professional sports in 2025. They must be some mind games at play for both teams.

I can't see the Raiders being in a better position than this year for a while.

Ironically, it was Manly that showed them up down that side when we towelled them up early this year.

Geez that's a tough call on two counts... Surely he (AFB) was NOT passive and contributed to the play but they are completely certain that he (AFB) didn't touch the ball, yet his hand appears to be impacted by the Raiders player at the same time he swipes at the ball and then touches the ball... Tough call and brave call at the same time by the underground experts.

Still time left, but… this finals series is looking more like the Faiders we know. Straight out the back door from minor premiers, and both losses on their home ground with the clap. They are really going to remember that loss to the donkeys for years…. NO, decades to come. It will haunt them if they don’t get up here.
