The elephant in the Room...

In 2016 when we were being flogged ...... everybody was rapt we retained and secured those players ... at those prices ...

In 2017 when we made the finals ... almost the top 4 ..... everybody was rapt with our roster .... nobody was overpaid .... just missing 1/2 players we chanted ...

In 2018 when we are in annus-horribus ..... Baz and Bozo have destroyed the club and Silvertails are experts ...... everybody is overpaid and we will never sign another good player .......

GET A GRIP AND WAKE UP PUNCHIES!
Oi, numb nuts. Last year was a false hope. We had a run of a few wins but outside of that we played with the same crappy style as 2016 and 2018.

That's right, Punchy. Manly limped into the finals last year only after a classic Dragons choke. But if fans are at the stage of tolerating mediocrity, fair enough.

..... spelt with an "ie" ....

Recently at some award ceremony, Robert DeNero, a congenital Trump critic walked on stage to present an award and without preamble said .." fucck Trump, it's no longer down with Trump, it's just Fucck Trump"

Trump replied in a tweet ..... the economy is the best it's been for decades, employment has never been higher, and companies are coming back to America .... wake up Punchie .....

The later a reference to his boxing role in the raging bull.

It is now my favourite affectionate go-to phrase, along with the always playful numb-nut ....
Thanks Woodsy! @;)
The awards ceremony of which you speak was the recent Tony Awards. Who knew one could be both a Sea Eagle fan and a musical theatre tragic?
The Trump tweet I don't recall, possibly because it was one of a million.
Still think Raging Bull holds up.
Normal transmission resumed ...

Thanks Punchy, couldn't agree more...... those ignoring that fact are numbnuts

Yes, his knees are shot but it doesn't mean he can't look after general play like choosing when to pass and when to kick. The guy was the last origin winning halfback until last Sunday. A pre-season with the team can make all the difference for any half. He's come straight into a spine that's been changing every week with Tommy off on origin and Api being suspended and now out for the season.
If he can’t run... then choosing when to pass and kick is all he can do. And if he’s not choosing when to pass and kick out on the field, then who is. And I’m over the whole he didn’t have a pre season with the spine bullsh1t, there are plenty of good football players who perform admirably without having spent a pre season with the rest of the spine... look at Nsw, Tedesco and Cook didn’t spend a pre-season with Cleary and Maloney. They figured it out in about a week, because that’s what good players do. It’s not like we’re asking Hodko to play AFL... he’s been playing the game his whole life.

Mate, he's been given a fair chance. The owners have him a chance and most of us gave him chance, we all had high hopes. However, after 3 years of the same terrible off field and on field crap that we've been dished up it's clear he's a ****en dud and so is his coaching staff. Someone needs to get it in the arse and they (the they includes that idiot Cartwright) need to go. Our club is a disaster and until the TB experiment is over we can't start a rebuild.

Your definition of fair chance and mine must be different then. Fair is building your side without salary cap penalties and paying players who are not their whose contract was not your doing.

Million dollar handicap last year and 6th says that maybe there is something there, went above all bar the most optimistic predictions. This year underperforming but still handicapped close to a million with Myles and Toddy G.

No idea about what off field crap you are talking about.

His handling of the Hastings drama and the brain snap media interview following the Titans Game in April this is an example of the off field crap that is referred to. The interview is accessible on line 18 April 2018.

Same old excuses. Team selections poor, game plans if any in 11 games have been poor, IMO he doesn't have the ability to bring out the best in players. TB has had enough talent at his disposal to have won more than 4 from 15 this year particularly with the favorable draw we had in the early part of the season. I expect that TB is a good bloke but IMO he's not the coach we need at Manly. I felt that he earned another shot in 2018 after the improvement in 2017 but we have regressed to the same type of footy we were playing in 2016 namely add lib disorganization with points coming off instances of individual brilliance and an absence of sustained pressure. We are playing like a side that should be 14th and a chance of getting the spoon for the first time ever.

It is good to see you are speaking for everybody...

Only on behave of the talented and gifted ........ however "everybody" is proportionate ..... I think I would be confident in saying that a review of threads of the time would vindicate my claim to having expressed the majority opinions ......

Mate ... try and keep up to date .... numbnuts now has a hyphen ie Numb-nuts.

and Nah ... last year was real ... this year is false disaster ......

we were 6th, dragons would have won by a squillion and we still make the 8.

but don't let facts ruin a good story.

PPSSS it was the cows who limped in after the choke with the immortal and supercoach who have won just as many games so far this year as us as well without the injury toll and salary cap handicap

OK. Thanks. Being a bit slow on the uptake I also need some clarification on Punchie or Punchy?

..... to question is to wonder ... and to wonder is the awaking of an intelligent mind ....

Either ie, or y would be acceptable, however I prefer the more traditional ie ..... has a bit more pazzazz to it .....

I didn't understand a word of that! Can I have the dumbed-down version?

We won 4 out of 10 leading into the finals. A wonderful form line! My limping story is just fine...
