Valerie Holmes' intentional collision with Toho's head was extremely reckless and could have resulted in a serious head injury .... I have replayed it several times and Holmes looks sideways at him and alters his gait to make contact .... should have been a penalty and sin bin as a minimum .... Felt, Munster and Holmes should all be cited if the new rules are seriously and fairly administered ... imho
the stupid thing is that if To'o had dropped the ball then it would probably been a penalty, put on report and who-knows-what-else... it was definitely intentional imo...

No HD quality in that ivory tower for v'landy

But Australian Rugby League Commission chief Peter V’landys has hit back, claiming the crackdown hasn’t weakened and that the Feldt decision was correct.

“They (referees) didn’t ease up at all,’’ V’landys told 2GB radio on Friday.

“I think the players have adjusted their style. It just shows you that the elite players can quickly adjust and they did so in the State of Origin.

“There’s 700 tackles a game, there’s only one to five to the head — we just want to eradicate those.’’

And he claimed that Feldt didn’t warrant a sin bin – or worse – despite his shoulder clearly collecting Murray’s head.

yep... talking out of the side of his mouth...

what a load of BS... did he explain how Feldt's shoulder to the chin did not do more damage then say the broncos kid last Friday night? (despite the fact that Feldt actually leaned his shoulder into the tackle whilst the kid was almost upright when contact was made)... and the fact that Murray was unable to return to the field...

joke...

He only sees them when they dive, apparently.

the stupid thing is that he has now moved his scope to "we want to remove the thuggery"...

...well what was with all the 10-min for incidental, accidental contacts then?

if it is THUGGERY that you want to get rid of then SEND THEM OFF when they are intentional, give them 10 when they are a clearly reckless contact to the head and simple penalty, on-report for accidental forceful contact.... all of which were allowable, and I would argue ALREADY BEING ENFORCED, prior to this current 'crack-down'....

these penalties for incidental contact and 10-min for 'reckless' contact that was unavoidable (arm rebounding off-the-ball, players chest making contact with the head, shoulder coming into direct contact with the head accidentally) play ABSOLUTELY NO ROLE in reducing THUGGERY....

V'Landys has just proved himself a muppet who is not prepared to stand up and say "we had the best intentions but we got it wrong and it was ruining the game so we have adjusted our interpretaion"... he would rather go with "your eyes deceive you and our interpretation remains the same"....

Of all the incidents in the SOO likely to "scare off the little kiddies and their mums" it was the blood streaming down Cleary's face for much of the first half, courtesy of friendly fire.
Rugby league is a tough sport and injuries are part of the price you pay for playing it. All but the elite play the sport for free because they love the contact.
Deal harshly with the deliberate head-highs but be informed enough to know that the vast majority of injuries are accidental, even those that affect the head and face.

100% agree, Vlandy has no credibility, the image above in this thread shows it perfectly, Murray unable to return, confirms it beyond any doubt.
You are right Frank, JOKE

Proctor on Manu, just now.

So, now it looks like if players stay down, the offending player will get binned.
If player jumps back up, it's a report only.

The crackdown is as dead as a dodo, well except for encouraging milking.

It's AlL About Player safety!!

Did you see what Tino did? Got tackled legally, held his neck, gets penalty, Liu gets placed on report for absolutely nothing. Tino gets up and continues to make huge runs....
The NRL must not let obvious rorting like this happen. He should at least be fined for poor acting.
