Parramatta are moving forward because they have had a comprehensive clean out. A proper clean out at Manly would include all players who aren't performing, including senior players. Cherry Evans going is a good start, however the Trbojevic's underperform week after week and yet management want to re-sign them on deals which are still way over the value they provide. Its frustrating and I weary of the way our club is managed. Sure they have signed some young guns, but they won't get a chance in first grade because in 2026 it will be the likes Brown, Croker and the Trbojevic's plodding around on one leg while the young talent will play NSW cup all year until out of desperation they sign with other clubs and then return to give us a flogging.

Yeah i am not sure if Parramatta who have not won anything in 40 years is the template to follow.

But you are right they have cleaned out the puss out of the joint and wearing the pain atm. But it looks like they are building towards a better future.

We are stagnant & while can beat anyone on there day. We are inconsistent and not really getting any closer to the top 4.

Agreed with U mate but I just think he needs a better coach. Obviously he has talent, that's Y he gets pick wk in wk out. I'm as frustrated as U that he doesn't use his pace. I've seen him get run down a lot and think is that pace is even there. Sometimes U think he's pacing himself but maybe that's as fast as he can go, love to see a race between the fastest man in league.

C'mon Eagles calm down, STRONGER TOGETHER. I see both side point of view, but Lodge was our best on the weekend and for 2-3wks. He stood up for us when we were down and out foot on our throat, and wished he threw a few at them for Manly and for me. Bunch of weakling standing around doing F##### all.

Do U think Spud, Hill, Hoppa, Lyons, Rambo, Matai, Watmough, Close etcs would b standing around and do nothing. To me it just show they care for the boys and our great club. Or U want them to walk in the showers before the coach gets there and the coach goes, I'm so proud of the boys today.

We need hard arss like that we haven't had for a long time, that's why we've been ****tttt for many years. Also Lodge is on F*****all $$$$$ trying to feed his kids

The Urbos are definitely worth keeping on reduced contracts.

I was unimpressed with the idiot Lodge making stupid plays and carrying on, as if we weren't 26 points behind.

He's likely to be suspended too. If he has a good game, it's no good if he's not there the next week. He's a first class dumbarse, and I would prefer someone more defensively minded i.e. Navale or Tevaga in the middle.

A lot of Dogs plays were created by Lodge's inability to slide in the middle.

At least he had a red hot crack. His carries have been strong for weeks. He showed some passion and fight. Lodge wasn't the problem yesterday and I'm not sure what he did to be labelled idiotic. Hoppas two errors were more costly, as were Koula's play the ball and Waddell's poor reads (and his six again swipe at the footy) when Olakau'atu went off. Not sure what you were watching.

I am concerned about our club. The Football department needs a reboot. I'm pleased that recent recruitment has resulted in signing some very good young talent but we need to bring them through into first grade. Walsh is 19 and old enough to play first grade. He has looked very good in the NSW Cup and looks ready. I would not be picking DCE against the Roosters and once we are out of semi final contention I'd start blooding some young forwards.

Every team can beat any other team on their day, so talk of consistently playing to potential really just comes down to the best playing groups vs the rest.

All of our silly mistakes, brain fades and poor reads is essentially an illustration of the quality of player we have. Even our best 2 or 3 are still fairly average when compared to the rest. They have a go but can't compete physically and under duress on a week by week basis. No worse than most, but just not good enough to ever make a GF

Agree with this. The team is very unbalanced, in terms of being overloaded with ageing players past their best, particularly in the pack. The reliance on casts offs from other clubs is really an embarrasment for the the club. A prime example of this is Corey Waddell - several years ago was cast off from Manly - went to Canterbury - was then cast off from that club - and resigned by Manly. Is a goer, but would not be picked in any other NRL side - and a couple of younger players in the Seconds can't get a look in.

IMO our halves let us down on Sunday. Apart from one good 40 / 20 that we couldn't convert into points in the first half our kicking game and last tackle options were very poor even whilst our pack was holding it's own in the first half. We had no creativity in attack managing one try in 80 minutes. DCE's short kicking game was ineffectual. We looked like we were just hanging on in the later part of the first half and our try came against the run of play. That was our biggest loss of the season at a time we should have been coming home with a wet sail. We only have 6 games left and the way we played on Sunday we may only win one or two. Time to change things up. Otherwise it more of the same.

1) lack of unlimited or loads of extra funds to provide the best of everything.
2) the football department ( relates to above ), note I say the department , that includes the coach.

Of course that’s what it is. You could see the intent and effort that we put in on Sunday and lost 42-4. The sad thing is people look at that score and believe we turned it up and stopped having a dig. The reality is even sadder…we were fatigued because our opposition was so far ahead of us in prowess.

To beat the Panthers/Dogs brand of football, you either need to match the grind and be prepared to go with them for 80 minutes, which we are simply not set up or inclined to do, or rely on individual skills (“weapons”) and some favours from the refs. Our style of play has previously been described as “using our weapons” so we have no hope of simply flicking a switch mid season and expect to out grind teams that have spent years developing that playing style. The dogs don’t have better players than us, they just have a system they have all committed to.
