NRL CEO Todd Greenberg has today announced plans to host an official ‘Bali Nines’ exhibition in the Indonesian rugby league getaway early next year.
In a desperate effort to repair an increasingly fractured relationship between Balinese locals and the Australian rugby league community, the NRL have today announced a new plan to involve our Indonesian neighbours in the pre-season excitement of the greatest game of all.
Rising NRL stars Nelson Asofa-Solomona (Melbourne Storm) and David Fifita (Brisbane Broncos) have reportedly been announced as the faces of the upcoming competition.
Todd Greenberg has pointed to their already high-profiles on the Indonesian island, after both getting arrested a fortnight apart for punching on with bouncers at the same nightclub.
“It’s an exciting time for our game,” said the games CEO going through just another day on the job at the coal face.
“A lot of people have been calling for us to take the game to Los Angeles or Las Vegas or New York, but Bali is the perfect fit.”
“Obviously we’ll be taking players straight from the ground and locking them alone in their hotel rooms at all spare times.”
“Get ready for the Curtain Raiser!”
