That was the game that will make this team.

No mate. The best thing that could have happened would have been a win, against the odds, in the last minute of play.

This would have also "galvanised and united" the team, but also taught them that they can overcome, and win against these odds, even when the refereeing is blatantly stacked against them.

As a loss, it was a "good" loss, but at the end of the day it was a loss we didnt deserve. As you say though, lots of fantastic positives to come out of that performance, across the team.

Make us or break us though (That is if the NRL continues to allow the refs officiating in our matches, to have the same degree of influence on our results, as we saw last night)? We will have to wait and see.

We are not broken . We are only "broken in" to tough games against the odds and through our disappointment we will learn how to handle the situation better next time .
A loss is a lesson. It is a great Teacher
We learn much more on how we can improve from a loss than from a win
They say teams need to lose a grand final or have the experience in playing final football before they can win the big one.

they know how to survive " .......
Finally , A message to all the NRL teams ...

They'll be out to prove a point next week against the Tigers, we might have been due a loss even though we were up against it.

You always learn from a loss moreso than a win and the team will have that "us against the rest" put into them.

If we were disappointed i could only imagine Jake watching that last night!! He'll be itching to get back!!

In what part of my post do I imply that the team is broken? I actually agree with your views on the potential for losses to be turned into positive results going forward.

What I cannot accept is the role of the ref in NRL matches, such as yesterday, determining the match results.

If this is allowed by the NRL to continue, than unfortunately Manly's season will be shattered by circumstances outside the teams control.

Just expressing my different perspective .....

No one will shatter the mighty Sea eagles
Disciplined and committed teams have proven in the past that they can overcome the odds of bad refereeing as they don't let frustration take over them.
TO HELL WITH OUTSIDE CIRCUMSTANCES .
HARDSHIP HAS MENTALLY TOUGHEN US AND HAS MADE US WIZER AND WE WILL CREATE OUR OWN OPPORTUNITIES AND PREVAIL IN THE FUTURE

I hope that game was a turning point and inspires us, however after the blatant bias shown by the refs and their enablers at headquarters I know we'll have to be bloody good to get within cooee of the premiership. I've no confidence that we'll get anything like fair treatment on the field or off it and expect the bastards to continue with their lopsided penalty counts and their investigations based on heresay and innuendo.
