That Manly feel is back.....

Maybe I'm 'mad', maybe I'm just sentimental but I can't help feeling that the 'old' Manly is back!!!! Reading interviews with Kelly, Uate, Sironen, Hastings, Marty, Winterstein etc. over the past weeks shows how happy these guys are to be a part of our great club. Their praise of Barrett for what he has done for each & every one of them is great to read. The talk of how popular he is with the players & how he respects all of them has bonded this team in a big way & it's showing on the field. Yes there have been a few hiccups along the way but I'll put that down to inexperience! You can see how close the boys are just by their reactions on the field when someone scores a try or saves a try! I haven't seen that much camaraderie in quite a few years. DCE is almost back to his best, Marty is killing it, Walker is fast becoming the best Center in the game, Myles is starting to play the role he was brought here for, AFB is looking ominous, Uate is doing what he does best, Siro & Winter are getting there, in fact the whole team has improved so much....it's all plus plus plus for this team to become great again & if the boys continue to play for each other then it's gonna be a good year(s) ahead!

While I agree with what you are saying, I can't help noticing that the 'interviews' transcribed on the MWSE web site, all use the same phrases and terminology. It's as if they all had a ghost writer for them, or all went to the same school of 'footy interview training'.

It is getting better, a few home wins and I'm in for the feeling. Walking out of brookie after another defeat numbs that feeling though.

I'm almost there, but our last capitulation (first half against Melbourne) is too fresh in my memory for me to declare Manly back yet. If we show consistent performances over the next 3-4 weeks I'll be ready.

I was mostly referring to the interviews on Foxsports news & SMH sports news.......but hey at least it's positive feedback.

We are definitely a top 8 team this year. Nice to see the team running well and everyone seems to be playing well together.

Young side still trying to gel, we are going to have some good wins and some dissapointing losses.

2018 will be better, and 2019-20 top 4 or even top 2.

Not so related to this thread but on the other end of the spectrum are the panthers. Apparently things are going from bad to worse over there and several of their high profile players are not happy. Good time to pounce on a player or two!
