I have said it before, what a 40-0 GF win, particularly over the cheating Storm and 5 years after nearly being dead and buried has done is as a fan we have reached the pinnacle. It will never get better than that, 2011 was great, but nowhere near the 40-0 experience. same as '87 and '96.

2008 was like our Lotto win, never to be repeated.

So 2 ways to look at it, we will likely never experience anything like that again which is a bit of bummer, but hey, at least we got to experience it where other clubs fans are still waiting years for a GF, let alone win one like the 2008 circumstances, possibly except for Souths who winning the 2014 GF long after returning from oblivion.

Hairs on the back of the neck time were The Robbo hattrick that put us out of reach and the tears of joy when Beaver scored his try.

One of the great days for me. 6 years earlier we were almost extinct and it was a bleak time and that victory healed that pain!
And can you imagine our next to title after all we have been through as a club over the past 5 years or so, going to be extra sweet, still will never beat 2008 though.

Beaver scoring right in front of me , right in my eye line up the northern end of the ground, one moment I will never forget.

Happy for all our players being rewarded for a gutsy season
Beaver scoring in his last game
Max Delmege who saved us from joining Norths in the NSW cup comp and being the proud club Owner of the historic record winning grand final

We won the Grand final with a record score without a big stadium like others club had
We had Big hearted players Big Hearted supporters /club members and Big Hearted investors

Favorite moment of the 2008 Grand Final? All of it but Beavers try is the pick of many, many great moments.

Remember every minute like it was yesterday.... and buying the winning T shirts after the game outside the venue was magic..... stilll have it and wear it proudly on special occasions

Hmm... never even noticed it before, at 2m55 a classic late shoulder charge to the head of Matt Orford by dog shot specialist M Crocker! Everyone was just looking at robbo's try, the commentators didn't notice Slater's boots and I missed Crocker's foul too
Yes that scum bag Slater had his flying boots in first 2 tries for Ballin and Robertson, God he was scum!

The best day ever for a Manly fan after getting beat year before with Brett getting knocked out of game and being well beaten and coming back from the Northern Eagles disaster and near collapse of early 2000's. What a day and been Beaver's last game for club, I was lucky enough to be at the game!

Its hard to go past Beavers try for favourite memory. Fantastic player. Champion bloke. Great way for him to go out and well deserved.
That said loved Snakes flick to Belly for the last try and Kiteys barnstorming run from the kick off after one of our many tries.
I was never comfortable until our lead was greater than the time left on the clock. It was not until then that I thought we had it.
Upon reflection though, there was a moment early in the 2nd half. We were 8 nil up. Watmough gave away a penalty and he got up laughing as he was running back. It's at this moment I reckon our boys thought they had Melbourne's measure.
Great win. Forever in the record books.
Go Manly!!

You could tell Slater had accepted defeat when he stopped sliding in studs first as we kept scoring tries. Pretty sure the rule came in banning that very practice the following season. Typical Melbourne tactic: possibly within the laws of the game (as they were at the time) but a straight-up dangerous dog act that no other team would even think of trying.
notice when he stopped going in studs first he began to take bombs with a foot outstretched studs first towards the kicking team
