There were three TV series about detective agencies that were very similar in style during the late 50s early 60s. Edd Byrnes starred in 77 Sunset Strip with Efrem Zimbalest Jnr, Roger Smith, Richard Long. Surfside 6 Starred Troy Donahue, Van Williams, Lee Patterson. The most successful was Hawaiian Eye with Anthony Eisley, Robert Conrad...and wait for it Connie Stevens as Cricket with Poncie Ponce, who mainly drove the detectives around in his cab. Troy Donahue came across for the last season or two. Sorry Edd Byrnes 'Kookie' was never an item with cute bar room singer Connie Stevens's Cricket, though most young men probably wanted to know Cricket intimately.
