Zorba was never much of a footballer. OK, better than you or me, but this notion that this former part-time first grader is a 'club legend' is something that he himself has probably cultivated.

The 1973 Manly side against the Sharks was a gun side and a player had to have ability to make the team . As we all know Zorba has that never say die spirit which he also displayed on the field when he played for the mighty Sea eagles . Love him or hate him Zorba has stamped him self in our proud history books for ever 🙂

True he was not in the same league as Igor , Mal Reilly or Lurch but he was good enough to be chosen to play along side them and had others playing in reserve grade . The immortal the undisputed greatest player of all time the one and only Bob Fulton was our match winner in that Grand final

Mary had the plums to bench Merrin until he proved he's invested in this year. Tooves for all his heart as a player is clearly lacking them when it comes to Foz.

Lot easier to do when your team isn't smashed by injuries before a ball is even kicked.

Tooves mentioned before Round 1 that MCK had a good pre season and was in the frame for a spot in the 17. IMO, we need youth and speed, hence the selection of MCK and also Hodges on the bench. Unfortunately our older guys are just a little bit slow and are being outplayed.
