I thought he was our best player last night and it really warms the cockles to see him back. Some of the work he got through was very impressive.

Great metres. Same old vulnerability under the high ball. He has not improved his ability to diffuse bombs and it continues to be a huge weakness in our team .

Also with regards to Croker, I was happy enough for his debut. One thing that’s for sure is he is a marked improvement on green in defence, that hit on Guerra which forced the ball loose was great. Happy to give him some time to prove himself, think people calling for him to be dropped is a little premature.

Jorge was good last night but it would be tough to go past the guy who set Jorge up for the first try, scored one for himself by toying with the opposition, saved a try one on one and made two desperate one on one tackles late in Newcastle's 10, which pretty much led to getting the field position where our match levelling penalty goal ended up.

Jorge made over 200 metres and 5 tackle breaks which is encouraging. Kelly had the 2nd most in the team with 4. These two could be a great centre/wing pairing this year.

Mate you were going to get a winner trophy until I saw you had API as our third best. I know he is a favourite of yours but it's time to go with fainu for twenty minutes to give API a spell. Kelly was wonderful I'd have him tied with Tafua except Jorge came back from an ACL and that's gutsy.

Jakes passing became predictable real soon. He needs to mix it up for it to be effective. API is still a great player but he can't girl himself into defence the way he does and still be zippy out of nine for eighty minutes. Jeez Lewis brown for fifteen minutes and we might have seen a different result.

Taufua was good , but the other winger Uate needs to finally learn to catch the ball. Or it’s time to look at someone who will catch the ball. It’s costing Manly wins the past 2 seasons. Semi final v Penrith ‘17 comes to mind.

Kelepie would do a great job hitting the ball up on the wing! Catching a bomb is just a pre-requisit for that position. He has had too many preseason now to fix it, and just hasn't. It's time to move on, give Tom Wright a run.
