Taufua Shot

I was thinking Taufua should have been dropped for Elliott, but how I was wrong! Walker at this stage is most definitely the one that needs to be dropped, particularly once Brad Parker returns. He may be able to do a few good things in attack but his poor defensive reads leave so many gaps..

Elliott is one of the most irredeemably reserve grade backs of the current era

His metres post contact average have got to be in the minuses

Total ****ing scrub, Taufua is a God tier winger who gets zero ball from his idiot centre

Yep Chip and Chase. And that’s the issue with ridiculous calls to drop Walker. We already have the slowest backline in the comp by the length of the straight. Remember Brad Parker’s intercept this year! Run down in 30 yards.Suli and Jorge are powerhouses but tortoises as well.
Walker and Parker will be the centres. It’s a lock.
Parker has great defence and pretty strong carries. Dylan has speed and X factor. That’s balance. We are a mid tier side who ran second last in 2018 and all of a sudden we are dropping test and origin players after three or four games back!

In the fair dinkum stakes: what has Walker shown in his four matches this season that comes close to his heightened reputation?
I wish he was half as good as some of you claim him to be.
As for his X-Factor... I'm still hoping to see it.

I read the title and thought it was meaning " Taufua is shot" eg his legs have gone. He does look like he's showing the signs of wear and tear . Speed in the open is totally gone and even when he tries to overpower his winger to score a try these days it's just not there like it used to be. BUT there is something about him you've gotta admire, he always puts in great effort, hit ups are always strong and he is as brave as they come.

Maybe people are looking at the prior 120 games that took him to the elite level of representing his country, winning a GF and also allowed him to score sixty tries in that time and thinking that at his young age he will improve after a long layoff and an incredibly stressful time. Are we supposed to believe he has no ability all of a sudden.Ordinary players don’t achieve that.

Brad Parker played like a dunce for thirty five games, scored half a dozen tries over that time and has now strung together a very good string of eight or ten games to earn his left centre spot.

Parker is now apparently a five star indispensable elite centre after eight or nine games and Walker an absolutly hopeless reserve grader after 4 average efforts.

Reality is in between as usual. Parker is a much improved player and an asset on our left and Dylan is an elite player having a tough period( Latrell Mitchell, Maloney anyone! ).
Judging proven quality players on three or four games is ridiculous.
Might surprise people but Dylan is still 24 and only two years older than Brad. There is a very good centre pairing to be had for quite a while if given time and elite coaching like neither Brad nor Dylan have had before.

If the offfield stuff forces Walker out of our club I have no issue with that and would back the club entirely as it’s definitely an issue and I’ve no wrap on that side of him at all but in terms of playing ability alone Id be very wary of getting rid of a young speedy Australian rep out of a side with very little speed out wide. And id bet a fair bit of cash Des agrees. From all I’ve heard Des is a big fan and if he keeps his contract it will be due to Des demanding it.

F8ck ... the scary clown is back

At a vital time Taufua pulls off the Massive shot.....
I was just talking Matai with a mate saying Manly were lacking the aggressive when Taufua cut the Nth Qlander in half.
Also ran tough and a big part of the 2 point win

Great shot but prefer he plays it safe most of the time.

If he mistimes one which he has done a few times in the past will likely sit out a few games....

My greatest concern with Jorge this year is how slow he looks. I hope he is playing injured and it comes good, because when he has had to put the foot down of late, dam it has been at snail pace.
