I could go on forever about this topic and certain clubs ability to attract players for "less money", the whole facade/charade that are "third-party deals" however, I'm sure I'd give my true identity away and the NRL and I aren't on good terms at present, so best I leave it at that.
@AndWeDon'tCare has just outed himself as Phil Gould. Welcome, Phil!

His current(previous) club (Knights) offered him a deal, as per his own thread.

So? were we bidding against 4-5 teams for a 400k plus player? no we got an injured player from the knights that is hardly the time to crack the champagne.

If the argument you are making is we are an attractive option than name a rooster, panther, bronco, storm, dogs young star that we have grabbed? name a player that those clubs wanted that we got?

The truth is we get tigers cast offs and now we are getting shunned by them. That's just the facts I would love to say we are a powerhouse but we are not as a fan I'm not happy about that but it is what it is.

You asked me to name another club who wanted him.

I named them.

Stop shifting the goalposts.

It was reported that TDS had a meeting with Seibold / Mestrov recently
.......................................................................and the rest is history
Seibold and Mestrov did not have the cards
Ryles must have impressed him . He had the ace of spades
The cards =$$$
$$$ = the cards.

We had some cards for sure.

But as your mate Ricky Bobby would say, if you ain't first your last.

Seibold and Mestrov doing their best, but no they don't really have enough of those cards.

Woolf seems a decent coach can't imagine he is on massive dollars.
The phins are already a $$$ power house.

Manly would struggle to be a NSW cup power house when it comes to $$$$.

No leagues club. No real estate.

No games of golf. No smarts. Couldn't even give a player a car without stuffing that up either under Penns.

This last minute farce of failing to get our man
Never happened when we had the best administrator and negotiator in Arko
and he used to sign them for unders 😉
I'm a bit confused about your comment. It just doesn't add up.

The ARL / NSWRL, introduced a salary cap in 1990.

In 1984, Ken 'Arko' Arthurson became the Chairman of the Australian Rugby League (ARL) and in 1986 took over from Tom Bellew as Chairman of the New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL).

If what I have researched and written is true, how could he have paid unders to sign players?

Never let the facts get in the way of a @BOZO rant .......

So the young forward we have swapped Arthur for , he’s injured and not available until next year ??? ( is that correct )

So didn’t fix our lack of forwards this year does it !!

What a pity

Your argument that we cannot sign players others clubs want is incorrect though, as proven only just today.

So I was incorrect? I'll take that but let's be real if we are hanging our hat on Paul Bryan (who I hope becomes a great player) rejecting the Knights as making us attractive I feel my point is still solid. When we poach a star from another club than I will take notice but duly noted Paul spurned the knights to join us.

You've been, correctly, banging on that this year is done, so what does it matter if he's unavailable until 2026?
