Tallyn Da Silva

The same links that connected Galvin to Manly are the same ones that also connect Da Silva here. He was one of the few players to back Galvin, because they are close from these connections. Lots of reasons for him to come.

If we went cold on Starling, leading to him re-signing at the Raiders, this may be the reason why. I'd previously heard that he wouldn't stay if Koroisau re-signed at the Tigers.

Would not surprise me. I think Croker is headed for the glue factory, and there's enough good young hookers running around that having a couple of them is a fair shot. Yet again, I'm fairly certain Ashton Large is only 16 or younger, so he's likely only going to come into the Top 30 in 2028. Remember, Manase didn't leave while Koroisau was here. We had a few years with both playing first gragrade
I'd be happy with Api or Silva.

He's not coming.....

We would probably need to throw him 500k per season, promise him the starting gig and get rid of a couple of our incumbent hookers in the process.

Manly bound?

Unfortunately hasn’t been reported in the press, more one of those things you just hear down the corso.

Context: said to be leaving the tigers, managed by Mario Tartak who has a presence in the club already, Manly area of deficiency at hooker (we have plenty but they are all poor).
Disagree……Simpkin is a good young Hooker. Just needs time & perseverance in the top grade rather than getting replaced by Croker, GKCT & Tevaga!!!

i do - who's taking Croker and GCKT off our hands?
GCKT is off contract so that is not our concern.

Croker has 1 more year. If advised he wont be extended and he is able to negotiate I'd imagine Croker and his agent (or does he manage himself?) would be motivated to find a longer term deal be it the ESL or NRL.

fair enough - like you I'm on board with it if we can get it done

No NRL club would sign Croker. This is our problem yet we would take 10 hookers if we could.
The real problem is Croker was a junior 5/8, who Manly made into a dummy half after losing both API and Fainu, as Croker does add "utility" value....but the 9 is a very specialist position.
Croker has enthusiasm and that is a MUST for any position, but lacks the key elements, making Manly possibly the WORST team across the NRL for many seasons in the KEY position.
Lacks -

Running threat
Vision - Choosing the best option
Passing ability
Getting his forwards over advantage line

And this is ALL of where the game starts, through the middle.....MASSIVE part of Manly falling short in recent years.

Croker is no saviour and in fact a NSW cup player with the ability to "fill in" when needed

I think often fans down play there players a bit too much.

Dylan Napa, Chad Townsend and Micheal Jennings got contracts at the Roosters.
Woods and Brown with us.
Taupau at the Broncos.

There is nearly always a market and if not there is SL.

Look at the Cowboys for example. Robson off next season, who do they have lined up at hooker?
