Brett Stewart is currently holidaying in Europe and catching up with friends and family.
There has been speculation he may drop in on a Super League club or two while he's over there to gauge interest.
But my mail is Snake has no interest in joining SL at this point in time and will be at pre-season training with Manly in early November.
He intends to win his No.1 jersey back from Tom Trbojevic, setting the scene for a Robbie Farah-like stand-off with coach Trent Barrett.
Things will get very interesting, very quickly.

A fully fit and motivated Snake at 1 and Tom T in the Centres for 2017. I could definitely live with that.

I agree that if Brett Stewart comes back with at least some semblance of his former brilliance, another year at full back and TT in the centre (especially as it seems Matai may be gone) wouldnt hurt Manly. I'd go a step further. If Stewart is at full back and TT joins Walker in the centres, what about Tom Wright on one wing. That would make Manly's backline the fastest and most evasive in the League

to be honest i would love to see this happen. As much as i think tom is a star of the future, it would be an absolutely beautiful sight to see brett find form again and prove everyone wrong. Something in me still thinks he has a lot to offer this season. Even though tom probably wants to own that fullback position i believe he would still love to see snake firing on all cylinders being one of his idols.

Tom Wright hasn't done anything in reserves as far as I've heard which is disappointing.

I think that after the career he has had with us, Snake at least deserves a chance.
However......
I really can't seeing it as being best for the team going forward. Tommy filled in well when he played in the centres and also did well enough on the wing, but he's not a centre and he's not a winger. He's a fullback who just happens to be good enough to play those positions when needed. And right now I think his contributions from back benefit the team more now than Snake's.
It will be interesting to see how things pan out though. Barrett (from what I know) seems to regard Tommy as the teams first choice fullback while the behind the scenes power Bozo & ZtH seem to want Snake there. Will the coach actually get what he wants?

well it would be awesome if Snake was back to anywhere near his best but only time will tell .... its going to be gr8 having TT injury free ... hope that remains the case all season
