I've been wanting more from DCE, for a long time, and I want to see Schuster too. Don't get me wrong. I've just been shocked by the almost spiteful tone from some, only a couple of weeks after the Canberra win.

When posters get emotional, the content and subject often reflect the emotion rather than the subject. Shooting the messenger. But that works both ways. You can only call a polished turd a treasure for so long before people start to question the polisher and wether it really is cherries mum under an assumed identity.

A couple of years back a well known poster who i kind of know, took me to task on Fb private message about me calling cherry happy Gilmore on a silvertails post Why they didnt go the post ill never know,

I've been a lurker for quite some time. Maybe I should post more. I've read 100's of your posts Mark. maybe 1000's. My point is (similar to another post I saw pre game) I hope the Manly team has at least 10x the belief of a lot of the dominant posters in the last 3 weeks.

Yeah like all I was appalled at last weeks showing and tbh at the end of the game last week we fell back into the trap of a poor lack of attention to detail. I still however felt we’d beat Parra leading in and Fortunately we got home. We also lost troops again last night so happy with the fight we showed. Unlike some here I try not to rip all the players as individuals (I’ll admit tho Croker and Garrick have really been grinding my gears) as when we are fit and play as a team we will compete with most. I’m also firmly of the belief most any team that turns up focused and determined to win on the day can and will in this comp, look at this weeks results. Canb beat Easts after losing last week, drags just escaped v dogs after smashing us last week, Broncs have 50 put on them after smashing dogs last week, we beat eels and so on. The comp is tight and wins come from hard work, completing sets and attention to detail and despite what sone think this can occur in big games with lesser players. Some so quickly forget our finals games last year where we should have been one win from the GF with a host of our best players out. We just need to ensure now that we are switched on heading to nth qld cos if we’re not they can also beat us no problem.

Who cares how many posts a person has made or how long they have been here? Do we get wiser or more full of our own dribble with each new post?
I’ve always felt the whole keeping a public record of the number of posts thing is a big wank. It encourages dribblers to dribble... or as @yokahontas would say drivel on.

To see it in person was a privilege, I thought I wouldn’t see our boys play at Brookie this year so very chuffed!! 🙂 In regards to last week that 2nd half was unacceptable and I’m sure Desmond told the players that. I don’t think I’ve seen that sort of performance since pre Ben Kennedy days but the only way was up so good to see they’ve taken this on board.

Ah Mark... you don’t have to take what I posted as an insult directed only towards you. I just don’t agree with the post you made which suggested the author of this thread wasn’t valid because he’d only posted on here 14 times.

Yes I agree with that , I guess what got up my nose was that you have someone , who doesn’t contribute from day to day , coming on and sort of saying “ stick that up ya Silvertailers “ after the week that’s been and after a stirring victory.

@BOZO is constantly optimistic ( good on him ) so I’d take his jibes better .

Let’s get this is in perspective. One win out of our last 4 starts and we didn’t finish them off. I’m very happy but stand by what I’ve said previously. We are still 10th and there is a long way to go before it can been said we had a good season. I hope there are plenty more wins to come but I also want to see Schuster and Hoppa get a shot.

I've been critical as well but I don't shy away from it. But I don't do it in a ranting way. That doesn't do anything.

I don't think pointing out that DCE is on big coin and is judged by a different set of criteria is being negative. He has to accept that it comes with the pay packet. I will, however, give him the plaudits when he plays a blinder like he did last night. Fair's fair.

Guys like Turbo, DCE, Jake and Marty are quality players. Blindly saying they are s**t is not going to end well for you because they will always make you look foolish and it won't take long.

I'll admit I've been critical of the team and non-selection of young players.
I'll gladly give myself an uppercut.

Happy to give myself an uppercut as well, small price to pay for taking down Parra.
But the criticism of the last 3 weeks was totally justified.
And we still have no attacking structure or cohesion.
But if we can just hold the frigging ball, we will win a few on guts.
