Suaia Matagi (born 23 March 1988) is a rugby league footballer who plays for the Parramatta Eels in the National Rugby League. A New Zealand, and Samoan international, he plays at prop, and previously played for the New Zealand Warriors, the Sydney Roosters, and the Penrith Panthers.

He lifted parramatta against us the second time around. I’ve always rated him. But his form of late has been a bit questionable. In saying that he only knows one way.. runs hard and tackles hard. I wouldn’t mind either way. If he brings his A game could be a valuable addition to the squad. IF carney and matagi are added.. our starting squad looks much much stronger for it on paper

Was a very good bench prop at the pennys in 2016, with some form on the board there, and bought by the slime to be a starter.

Didn't work out well for him at the Eels, and I doubt we would do any better with him.

In saying that, maybe the giggle filled proud Manly prankster culture is just what he needs to rediscover his 2016 form.

Definitely was in his prime at the Warriors. Reminds me a bit of Joe G, hard and straight.

We were strongly linked to him before he went to Parra. We obviously did our due diligence before and providing he is fit they will be comfortable with moving on him quickly should the opportunity arise

Yes thought it was quite odd. Maybe he got a good deal in the ESL? And no one was prepared to match it. I’m not sure.. but he wouldn’t break the bank i don’t think. He is a very tough and physical young forward. The word fearless comes to mind. Our pack could do with his grunt

Sorry misread ur post.. I haven’t watched to much super league recently. But if his nrl form prior is anything to go by.. you’d think he’d be going alright over there

I dont think it really matters who we sign . Our forwards are good , depth is a bit of a drama but its about getting the us against them back . Look at teams back when manly came back into the comp , Brendan Reeves at fullback for god sake . I liked him but it was a let down from what or who we had in the fullback roll before him . Ridge etc. What i liked about the brendan reeves type players is that they spilt blood for our jumper , not world beaters but went out there and tried there guts out . Thats what we need to get back into our culture guts and determination and not soley reley on the champion player thats not having a crack.
