DUNAMIS Lui says Canberra coach Ricky Stuart has stressed the importance to him and the club’s other new recruits of buying into the culture at the Raiders.

Things have changed dramatically at Canberra since the club made several difficult decisions in recent years to part with star players who let the club down off the field.

The positive results were there for all to see when the Raiders went all the way to the preliminary finals last season, losing narrowly to Melbourne for a place in the grand final.

“Ricky has spoken to all of us new recruits,” Lui says. “He really wants us to buy into the team culture and really just get out there and do all we need to do.

Culture .. Wat culture a losing culture its been nearly 25 years since they won anything .. Yeah good on ya ricky .. A toughness year after year & a team thats never beat is the only culture i want to know about we have always had it & are in the process of getting it back ..

Stuart's a better coach than many suggest and he's doing a good job in Canberra. But I remember he almost came to Manly when Hasler left. Would we really have wanted him here?

Didn't Ricky say in an after match interview that the team will keep getting beaten until the club buys some state of origin players....

That culture I guess.

Best of luck though Mr Lui!

Rickys a decent coach but your only as good as the players running out everyweek.. We seen that with bennett at newcastle...

Stuart is like Meniga - motivators! Dean Pay is the real coach of the Raiders, just like Michael Hagan coached QLD.........

Stuart has a very strong playing roster to work with.
I thought the way Canberra capitulated in the finals when Hodgson went off showed the real truth...success is based on keeping your key players on the field....coaches can motivate and work a game plan but when the whips are cracking- the players decide the outcome....again not overly convinced with Barrett being good or bad - apart from being too happy after losses which personally - I don't like...fact is - NO coach would have helped much with our win / loss ratio in 2016 to how it played out.
Back to Stuart - good tactician and quick mouth, but always resembles a baby dropping it's dummy from the pram ...not a fan.
