SYDNEY Roosters coach Ricky Stuart is facing a $10,000 fine from the NRL over comments he made about referees in his column for The Sunday Telegraph yesterday.
The NRL today issued a breach notice to the Roosters, which the club can appeal within five days.
Stuart claimed the Roosters were copping an unfair share of bad calls from referees, with references to several decisions made by Tim Mander in Friday night's 22-18 loss to Manly.
NRL chief executive David Gallop said the NRL had no alternative but to issue the breach notice.
"If you assert that referees are biased you will be fined," Gallop said.
