Strategy

We lost to the Celler dweller Eels. Lost to the Celler dweller Knights. Lose to the Celler dweller Tits. And Manly really is in a fight to avoid a spoon.

I think we have been in that fight since the round 7 loss to the Dragons.

With a close comp and everything else going on a 4 game run, commencing mid July, of

Storm (a)
Dogs (a)
Roosters (h)
Raiders (a)

will see us moving closer to our first ever spoon.

It might be hard to avoid with a coach who has been there before and our captain, obviously trying to cause as much pain as possible to the club.

If we manage to lose to the Titans I am going to start seriously worrying! Hopefully enough of our injury crocks return to make a post-SOO difference.

Hard not to see it that way, all of it.

But it’s the DCE comment that resonates, I go over and over that aspect, it’s not just the last game where a couple of his kicks along with his minimal involvement raise alarm bells, what side can have their captain, their halfback and most senior player run the ball once for a 4 meter gain, show such a lack of discipline, poor kicking, game management, leadership etc that he displayed and think thats fair dinkum, his chemistry with Siebs looks off to me, it’s hard to believe he would do that, but he did come out and drop a bomb on the joint with his solo TV appearance, he clearly wanted or wants out of here and clearly the roosters were clearing the decks to make it happen this year, not next year, let that sink in, its all really to much of a coincidence and really hard to see anything positive coming from keeping him a) in the side and b) at the club.

Here’s a strategy, let DCE go to the chooks, get the best financial deal and or player swap we can, if and it’s a big if, he could do such a thing to the club that’s given him so much, why keep him, his no part of our future and not exactly helping the team and or our culture with efforts like Thursdays.

He put in against the donkeys, I would imagine in the hope of holding onto his state jumper, however the way he played against Newcastle suggested he knows it’s over so it’s back to trying to get out of here and across to the chooks this year, you can’t just kill it one week against quality opposition and turn up like he did the next against a complete shambles of a side. I guess time will tell, it will expose this one way or the other, his a better player than what Thursday night showed, regardless of the issues the team faced, especially given the opposition and their issues, he could of lead us to a win if that was what he was determined to do, 16 nil up and no sign of a captains knock, we had a shot at staying in touch with the top 4 (regardless of weather we are a top 4 side or not) that should of been enough to have him motivated to lead our side with all his experience, unless he has other plans.

I hate what’s going on with our club at the moment, something is very off. Daly’s clearly not happy. I’m not a fan of Seibs or Daly, that’s no secret, either way, I don’t care, if this is a Seibs Daly fall out, end it and give us a chance to work towards our future, yes without Daly and or Seibs, if the rest of the year goes to sh1t. If the way he played on Thursday is what we have to look forward to, I just can’t see why we shouldn’t let him go, given we get something in return, if his hearts not in the place or worse his looking to get himself out of here through, (hmmm, how to say it) poor performances, come on enough is enough, time to make some tough decisions, move him on or yes, drop him, seriously why would you continue to accept mediocre performances like Thursday night or worse the thought he couldn’t care less if we lose as some kind of personal satisfaction or way to further his own agenda, I would like to see someone make a tough call.

In the last 15 to 20 years no team that has won >7 games has "won" the spoon. We aren't going well but we aren't spoon worthy. We've already won 6 games and we have 11 games to go and as an absolute minimum we should win at least 3 or 4 of them. Maybe not a great a season but we'll definitely avoid the spoon. No worries there.

That @BOZO milking post has to go in the most silly posts ever. It cracks me up thinking about it again.View attachment 30434

We’ll let’s hope so, thing is, we may have a few more twists and turns to come yet, ($CE, Turbo, Seibs) there’s definitely some issues going on with the potential to divide the place and it’s not like we have a strong and resilient culture anymore, in the old Manly days we’d bunker down with that us v them mentality, these days however, just the thought of a rainbow can scare this lot, I hope your right and I hope something clicks into gear that brings back that old Manly mentality, thing is I just don’t think Seibs is that kind of coach or leader of men to get the job done, it will be more acceptance and excuses, without the spine to make the tough calls.

It definitely did at the post-game presser.
I thought Seibold began by saying the Knights won the kicking game and last plays in the second half. Which obviously was largely the responsibility of the bloke sitting next to him, and Brooks.
When we lost another unlosable game against Parra DCE was not playing
But we had the same Bloke sitting in the coaching box Seibold who was coaching us .
Same coach , Same capitulation
The Buck stops at the coach

Yes and of course a win vs Titans then Tigers then Souths with a couple of byes mixed in we might be sitting in a better spot.

That said I had banked on wins vs Eels and Knights in recent weeks, so who knows?

I will keep cheering them on and hoping for the best. Knowing the DCE era is almost over is the light at the end of the tunnel.
