Storm Vs Manly [Round 11, 2018] Team lists & Pre-Game Discussion

Also, if Taufua is back and Suli plays off the bench there is no reason why he can't play in the forwards with his size and strength. I would be giving him 2 × 15 minute stints in the 25th minute and the 65th minute so he can really make an impact.

I have the same good feeling as last week. It just feels like we've got the wheels back on. Could be wrong but at least they're worth watching again.

So many variables until we know if Taufua is playing and whether Barrett is prepared to play Suli out of position. Suli would be a definite impact player coming off the bench.

Unless there is information we don't have .... I would say he is a certainty ....

He is a veteran of 160 NRL games and 6 SOO ... he is not a rookie .. he knows his way around a footy field, and we don't do anything different to any other team .... it's not space surgery .....
Space surgery , LOL

Why not run it again from last week because we played at our best ?

My view is this feathered friend .
Never rest on our laurels . Resting on laurels breads complacency .
Every week we should raise the bar higher and look for ways to improve
To do our best against the Storm we should play players in their position where they play at there best .
Let the Road Runner Walker play where he excels at centre and let our most experienced and proven half available in Hodko do what he does best on the field and not sit and catch a cold on the bench .
So the moral of the story is this .....
MAY YOUR DESIRE FOR IMPROVEMENT
BE GREATER THAN YOUR COMPLACENCY
TO STAY THE SAME
On a different note .....
How good is this forum ? We get 10 people posting and we have 10 different positional changes. We all have our views
I definitely saw major improvements between when we lost to the Knights and the following week when Walker went to six against the Roosters. Walker had his best game and we were very unlucky not to win that match. Then we backed that up with the best win all year against the Donkeys in Brisbane. Again Walker was at six where he’s been running the ball more than in any of his other games. Basically, the side have been playing the game they trained all off season to play, but they were doing it much better. So, on that basis, I am not expecting complacency, but rather, a continuation of the obvious improvement we have all seen in the past fortnight. I’m not saying Hodkinson should not come into the side, because he does have the game to take pressure off DCE, and in doing so, bring about change to our gameplay. What concerns me, is that Hodkinson has only had two training sessions, and regardless of how good a player is or isn’t, sometimes combinations take time to work. Just look at Cronk and Keary. If Barrett wasn’t at least considering this very thing, then he would have just named Hodko in the six and be done with it. But he hasn’t had he... Hodko is named on the bench and maybe he wants to ease him into the game until he’s had a few more training sessions...guess all will be revealed tomorrow.

Kev, for me it is simples ... we complete in the high 60's or better we flog 'em ....... complete below that we get beat ,,,,,

I would have Suli as an Impact starting centre .
Suli and Walker
One power runner and the other devastating pace
Power and pace . Now that's a lethal combination .
Why settle for anything less ?

There was also

one things for sure Woodsie boy, and that is we have some very nice options. Something which looked a pipe dream a few weeks back.

110% correct.

2 weeks ago Chicken Little was reigning supreme and we had no answer to our conundrum.

Giving a young guy a run and moving Walks into 5/8 changed all that.

Yes I know Scam is out, but in which lifetime 3 weeks ago would any of us be typing “ I think we can win this one”.

Well I’m going to do it,

I actually DO think it’s possible we could win it.

Not a guaranteed win by any stretch but if the commitment from the last two weeks is still there I’m “ confident “.

I thought we were chicken feed when Jono Wright was a part of the 21 each week.

Kelly is extremely dangerous with the ball in the hand when given some space. His starting centre spot would have to be 100% safe based on his current form. At the same time, Suli cannot be left out of the 17, so it will be interesting to see how Barrett uses him if Taufua is officially back. (I fear that Suli might go walkabout if demoted back to reserves).

History has proven that when Manly is good enough we have beaten teams and the refs as well . I am not concerned about Parenaras errors , I am only concerned about ours .
Haha sorry Bozo but i can't resist. You could say that about any team. e.g. History has proven that when Team A is good enough they will beat Team B and the refs as well .

Its a lot of words to say if we play better than them we will win

Love your work mate. @:D

I think he'll be right. He has a lot of mates in that blacktown team and his old coaches. He's got a taste and he's just a kid. I think the whole idea of once a kid comes up never going back down stunts them. Drills in an expectation and takes away the hunger. Going back and dominating reggies for a few games is healthy when you're a young bloke and need to keep the confidence up.
