Storm Vs Manly [Round 11, 2018] Team lists & Pre-Game Discussion

I doubt the side would be thinking they can just turn up to Melbourne and come away with a win. Let’s hope that they arrive down south with the same attitude and determination that was on display up in Vegas last weekend.
Last year there were times where we turned up flat when a win would almost have been a certainty. Just hope that this team has learnt from it and will stay focused for the whole game.

Don't ever dis the Chopper mo 😛

I've had the same style mo for almost 20 years now.

Unfortunately the handlebars are now more grey than black :lipssealed:

I think we will win this game
Last weeks win was the Viagra we needed to keep us up against the Storm and beyond .
I believe our great win against the Broncos will keep us on a high and on a roll .
The Hodko selection should also keep Bellamy guessing before the match and during the match .
I believe from now on we will be seeing a new Manly baring any more injuries .
The bonus is we will be getting some players back soon .

Jorge Taufua — Collarbone — Round 12

Brad Parker — Knee — Round 12-14

Jack Gosiewski — Hand — Round 13

Taniela Paseka — Ankle Round 14
Viagra. If the Manly boys show up with that sort of potency. They will **** the storm for sure.

I'm feeling a little queezy about this one.

The impact of either a win or a loss is going to be substantial, in so many ways.

Kick for touch or high down the middle and move up quickly in a line... do not give them room to move or they will burn us.

If the guys turn up we SHOULD have enough by more than a few and motivation should not be an issue. (don't tell them we can't advance on the ladder even with a win)

DCE, Dylan and Ned to shine on a strong forward performance.

I would start with Hodko at 6 . With Dylan at 6 there are no surprises especially on last tackle options and that would suit the Storm but with Hodko every play will be like a box of chocolates against Bellamys game plan .

I can’t argue with any of that, provided everything pans out exactly as you have stated. But as of right now, we have a side that has been playing very well the past fortnight. So, do you disrupt that momentum and chemistry for a guy who has had two training sessions this week, and hasn’t played a first grade game for almost a month. The game plan over the past fortnight has been built around a power running game ( which was also pretty much the same when Croker was in the side... Dylan is just doing it much better) I’m just saying, there’s no way I would change that this weekend. Let Hodkinson come off the bench... it should be apparent early on whether or not things are going well. If DCE is getting stifled and Walker is struggling then change it up. IMO the boys have played their best football in the last two weeks so why not run with it again?
That’s what I’d be doing... but I’m not an NRL coach. Definitely seems the right way to go IMO.
like you said Hodko has had 2 training sessions so I'm sure that would have given Trent some idea where his fitness levels at .
I'm sure TB would loved to have put Walkz back to centre but the risk of it going pear shaped with Hodko starting is obviously to much of a gamble.
Munster, Chambers and Ado Carr v Walkz ,Kelly and Uate look pretty lethal on paper but I'm sure the pressure would be on them considering they look like origin starters....(Walkz would be loving that challenge)
I just hope Kelly sees more ball ,...great hands who layed a good try on for Uate against similar opposition.

I think our forwards could dominate , and hopefully this might be a platform for us.

Even last week we were a little clunky ( which considering the change in personnel each week is natural) in the backs so I tend to agree that maybe Trent might be 17th man and may or may not get a run this week.

However , he’ll be slotted straight into 6 the following week for sure.

Why do you think Hodko won't be 5/8 ...... for mine it is about a million to one that he will be ....

I'm mainly worried how we're going to fare defensively. I recall that Kafusi running great lines as we slide and back peddle 10m out and he was just feasting on that scoring easy tries. I know their wingers are deadly obviously too so our blokes racing up and in and catching air is another issue we need to address. I hope to God we're disciplined and focused this week. Smith or no Smith they're still a bloody good team unfortunately. Go Manly

Keeping it away from their two wingers in open space might be the difference!
The moral of YOUR story ........

Such a pity Tent is unavailable through injury. I'd have love to see him measure up to the Storm's hyphenated giant front rower.

Why not run it again from last week because we played at our best ?

My view is this feathered friend .
Never rest on our laurels . Resting on laurels breads complacency .
Every week we should raise the bar higher and look for ways to improve
To do our best against the Storm we should play players in their position where they play at there best .
Let the Road Runner Walker play where he excels at centre and let our most experienced and proven half available in Hodko do what he does best on the field and not sit and catch a cold on the bench .
So the moral of the story is this .....
MAY YOUR DESIRE FOR IMPROVEMENT
BE GREATER THAN YOUR COMPLACENCY
TO STAY THE SAME
On a different note .....
How good is this forum ? We get 10 people posting and we have 10 different positional changes. We all have our views

Only one thing is stopping me being confident about this one: Perenara. He hates us with a passion (wonder if he ever got a win against us in his brief, unimpressive playing career?) and will do everything he can to give the Storm the game.
History has proven that when Manly is good enough we have beaten teams and the refs as well . I am not concerned about Parenaras errors , I am only concerned about ours .
