Not a bad player out there for Manly, it wasn’t pretty or perfect, but **** it was nice to watch them not fling the ball around, roll up their sleeves, and dig in. Loved it. I’ll even have to give Seibold a wrap for keeping it simple, less of a wrap for not playing Talau though

Is it just me or have our fortunes completely shifted since we stopped trying to shift the ball to the edges all the time and instead play through the middle and kick to corners?!
Haven't looked through the entire post-game thread yet but I have to agree with these comments. Almost un-Manly like, based on recent years where we score spectacular tries but lose the ball on miracle plays or lose concentration in defence.

Team is actually showing signs of playing semi-final style footy.

Keep it going lads.

Funny how old Soupy comes on, throws his usual **** around , then “ whoops we are playing well “ and then completely vanishes, never to be seen again ( until we are playing poorly again ).

I have a fair idea who Soupy is , and it probably fits the mould really.
Any chance u will out that tosser/pest/faux supporter MFB?

I was expecting the Field-goal / Brooks Penalty to dominate the post-match talk - overshadowing what was an otherwise cracking game from our guys.

Manly really put in, and while pundits will say the Storm were underdone and unusually sloppy with completions, we managed to rattle them enough to throw them off their game. Have been one of the few sides which have done this to the Storm in recent seasons, and have won at least one game against the Storm every season since 2021.

Pre-Game I didn't give us a chance, and would have been happy to mitigate major For/Against damage, at best, with a tight loss. Didn't see that performance coming, and the next 3 games whilst tough now seem winnable if we bring that type of gameplan and attitude.

On the penalty that determined the game, we were stung in identical fashion against the Warriors last season - at least its consistency despite it seeming soft. Regardless, Manly deserved the win and were the better team for 75-80% of that game imo - which was a win in itself as I thought Melb would dominate us.

Nelson should have been binned or walked for that elbowing effort. - but despite losing Simpkin, Jazz & the boys dug in, very pleasing. Frog's return is unlikely to be contentious for a week if Simpkin has the mandatory stand-down - but I do feel like Simpking deserves his spot right now, he was solid.

Weird old game. We haven't lost since that debacle with the Titans in June, and in the 4 game run ending with the Titans game we managed to also lose to Knights & Eels (basically 3 bottom teams), whilst belting the Broncs - who haven't lost since and are pressing for the 4 now. Hopefully we can emulate their bounce-back and take it to the Dogs - who seem to have their own unsettled player group right now. We should then account for the Rooters at home I would hope, and then Canberra away - we seem to be their bogey team at times. We are still the only team to touch them up this season (at 1 stage we were 40-0 up at home earlier in the year). Win all those games and it will change the dynamic of a season. Momentum is everything.

Paseka, Aloia, Crokes, Brown and Haumole
Missing 5 forwards, all normally in our top 17, makes a win over Storm in Melbourne even more impressive.
Of those , Ola back next game I think , AoA gone, Brown gone , Croker ???, and Paseka a soon chance for the last couple ???

Awesome win by the boys and a fantastic effort by every player. It's these games I don't worry too much about because I know they come to play with the right mentality and attitude. It's against the "weaker" teams that frustrate me the most because they seem to think they just need to show up to win, but get their pants pulled down instead.
Keep playing like they did last night and they'll go a long way into the finals. Well done boys 👏

3 games against the top sides to go , win another one of these , and 3 of the last 4 ( it’s a given the Dragons will beat us ) and we are in the finals.

Probably only as cannon fodder but that would be a fair effort , considering.
I was hoping for 1 of the first 4 - check!
3 of following 4
to get us into the 8...
time will tell

We are a better side without Croker. Aloiai is a loss given the form he was in but he seems to be done. Brown was carrying injuries so he isn't as much of a loss.

It will be great to have Haumole back and if we can get Paseka back and fit before season's end we are still a chance to be thereabouts come finals time.

I’ve seen him spreading his same rubbish on Facebook.

He’s a grub.

One thing I am struggling to figure out from last night's game.

We lost Simpkin to a Cat 1 HIA caused by an illegal elbow to his head from Nelson. So why weren't we weren't allowed to activate the 18th player??

We lost a player to a HIA directly caused by foul play. Isn't that supposed to be an automatic activation of the 18th player??

I think because it wasn't a binning.

Though the charge today sorta confirms it should've been a binning.
