I'm still in disbelief that we won that. When Coates scored off that bomb I thought they were going to get us.

It has been great to see us playing with some more grit. But the Storm were also surprisingly bad tonight.
We made them look bad - put them off their game with solid hard straight on defence, led by Jake - took their space most of the time
It was a great win and hopefully has showed them how they have to play for the run to the finals

Has anyone noticed since Hmole has been out DCE has been forced to play a little straighter. This has Waddle running a stronger line making some better metres.

Now with Hmole coming back next week, why can’t DCE play straight every week that will open up space for our terrorising backrower. Hmole getting the ball flat footed dose my head in. Imagine him charging onto the ball like a madman in a little space, defending teams would have no chance

1st loss for the storm at home this year and old boys day!!!

Can't beat that!!

Makes that win even more special

Not many teams go down to Melbourne and come away with the 2 points
And I reckon no other team for the rest of the season (Belly ache will see to that)

Were up for the necessary intensity and commitment - effort level needed and under so much more pressure pre game so kudos all round really .
Had a couple of things go their way but pretty much had the Storm's measure and Manly "s more aggressive and eager defensive approach definitely contributed to the Storm's higher then normal mistake rate.
Looks like that game plan formula is the way to go particularly for the continuing challenging matches ahead .
Ola if he is good to go next week should provide an extra kick along , not too sure how to cover Simpkin if he is apparently not available next week .
With the playing mode right now , can essentially keep Jake at 13 for the full 80 and no doubt Jazz can go a full match also .
Could be a case to bring in Navale on the bench and give Jake a bit of a rest , again not too sure on the options for Jazz . Shame with some limitations for Talau being utilized in the backrow judging by the trend last night but it is what it is unfortunately
Big minutes from T K O [ going real well of course ] and Bully to allow for less time but still effective input from Lodge and Sipley .
D C E and Brooks doing most things right helping no end , Koula and Turbo will or can trouble any well organized defensive line . Mighty effort from Garrick but hopefully can or will be able to manage just s lightly better conversion rate ongoing when every point is going to count but hey , not the most pressing issue after such a great result last night

The usual Storm apologists on the Fox panel saying Storm weren't themselves tonight, to many mistakes blah, blah whatever...they've had a few ordinary games but still manage to win those, but not this one baby, and at Slimie Park to boot...Bulldogs next Sunday, carn Manly..

Funny how old Soupy comes on, throws his usual **** around , then “ whoops we are playing well “ and then completely vanishes, never to be seen again ( until we are playing poorly again ).

I have a fair idea who Soupy is , and it probably fits the mould really.

The biggest thing I took out of yesterdays game is Storm have mastered the art of holding the player down. They’ve perfected it down to the millisecond.

I have felt that we are always too quick to get off the player not just this game but all year.

I reckon they miss Paps more than they care to admit. He provides the spark and X factor that they need for their regimented system to operate effectively. Otherwise, pop gun attack apart from Xavier.

Yep, and the late leg swing of the tackled player on the ground, and the walk forward off the mark (how good to see Jake highlight that bull**** even if it did cost us a penalty).
